Karma in Real Life and How It Shows Up Every Day
Karma defines the daily activities of humans in their lives. The good deeds reap a positive outcome, whereas bad ones have negative results.
It is something that we don’t realise unless we experience it at a later stage.
As an example, you hurt someone in a fit of rage or even irritation, and then walk away.
At that time, it may not bother you to cause pain to others, but according to karmic law, what you do to others will eventually come back to you in some form.
In our lives, karma comes with our association with people from both personal and professional relationships.
Referring to Gautam Buddha's words that say, what we think we become; it is our karma that defines our real character and our approach towards other living beings.
Those who understand it are capable of bringing a balanced approach to their life.
Karma in Our Daily Life
One of the finest ways to discover karma is how we treat other people, no matter who we know and those whom we don’t know.
Besides human beings, your karma towards other creatures, including animals and birds, also matters.
The more we shower love and compassion on them, the same outcome you will get from them.
If we do bad to others, inherit their belongings, torture, and insult them in the grip of pride and arrogance, believe it, this becomes our karmic debt, which we will have to pay back.
Making someone’s life hell through cheating, dominating, and traumatising, may make you feel happier and victorious, but this happiness will be short-lived.
‘Nothing Stays Permanent’
According to a popular saying, 'nothing stays permanent,' this can become worrisome for those experiencing a good phase or vice versa.
The fact behind this is that nothing stays for a long time, whether it's happiness or sorrow.
If we are enjoying our good times now, then we must prepare ourselves for the rough phase next, and the cycle goes on.
This change is not to make you feel worried, but to pull you stronger to withstand the challenges and not get carried away with instant joys.
Giving a short example of actors, their stardom is fruitful until they are young and energetic on screen.
With the drop in their success and personality, they wither away in the minds of people. Citing an example is superstar Rajesh Khanna, who was popular with his good looks and back-to-back hit films to his credit. These include Aradhana and Kati Patang.
As per the sources, it is said that he had ego clashes with the rising star Amitabh Bachchan, whom he underestimated and made dismissive remarks about.
However, Amitabh stayed quiet and had always respected him. Later, the same rising star overshadowed the once superstar Rajesh Khanna.
Bad Actions Never Go Unnoticed & Good Actions Never Go Unrewarded
There are times when people question karmic law. According to them, bad people easily get away with wrongdoings, whereas good deeds go unnoticed.
Those who think this is right are wrong. The reason for this is karma doesn’t function on a fixed timeline.
Life, being very complex, the outcome of the karmic results takes time to unfold. And it does not happen instantly. Everything happens at the right time when it is destined to come.
Hence, one should not lose faith in wisdom but become hopeless and question the authority of the Almighty.
Just as demons like Hrinyakashyapa, Ravana, and Kansa, who considered themselves all-powerful, met with a dead end.
Similarly, those who treated you badly will face the result of their bad karma. It may take time, but it will happen for sure.
People who walk on the path of dharma face obstacles in their lives, but taste the fruitful results ahead.
Whereas people on the wrong path do celebrate their temporary happiness, but meet with a painful end further.
Identifying the Inner Demons
In the Satyug, where devas and demons live in different lokas (Vishnu & Hriyanyakashyap), in Treta, they were in the same lokas (Ram & Ravana), in Dwapar, they were in the same family (Pandavas & Kaurvas), and in Kaliyug, good and evil reside in one body.
With this fact, we need to identify the inner demons that hinder our spiritual growth and liberation to that divine soul. These demons are anger, jealousy, lust, greed, pride, and attachment.
Today, most human beings are afflicted with these diseases. The external wounds do heal away one day, but if you don’t come above these negative qualities, you cannot expect a positive outcome in your life. These five inner demons spoil your relationships and make you feel alone one day.
Hence, you need to fight the inner battle and defeat these demons before they conquer your soul. The one who has mastered taming them lives a happier and more peaceful life.
To achieve this, surround yourself with people of a positive mindset, read good books, and practice meditation and yoga.
Life is a one-time gift from god, so prevent it from falling into the web of negativity. Remember, our choices shape our future and our overall well-being.
