Shubman Gill ICC Ranking: Shubman Gill climbed two places to reach eighth in the world rankings with 743 points.

He is now India’s leading Test batter, signaling a fresh start for the team’s batting order.

On a challenging pitch that got plenty of attention, he made a crucial half-century in the first innings but was dismissed for zero in the second.

England won by 115 runs.

Root lost his number one ranking after scoring just 9 runs in both innings.

Jasprit Bumrah remains the world’s top-ranked bowler with 870 points, despite missing the Mullanpur Test against Afghanistan.

Wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav rose one place to 12th in the world after taking three important wickets in the second innings, helping India win by an innings and 300 runs.

The next Test is on June 17, with England taking on New Zealand at the Kennington Oval in London.

ICC Rankings Update for India Cricket Team

ICC Test Rankings 2026: India is still at the top of the ICC Men's ODI Team Rankings after the annual update, but their lead over New Zealand has narrowed from 8 points to 5.

After the update, India’s rating dropped from 119 to 118. New Zealand gained 2 points and now has 113.

Australia, the current ODI World Cup champions, are still in third place with 109 points.

The only change in the top 10 is South Africa moving ahead of Pakistan into fourth place. South Africa now has 102 points, and Pakistan is fifth with 98.

India Retains No.1 Spot as West Indies Extend Lead in Latest ODI Rankings

ICC Test Rankings 2026: West Indies have extended their lead over Bangladesh to 10 points. Further down the rankings, Ireland has moved ahead of Zimbabwe into 11th place.

The United States is now above Scotland in 13th, and the United Arab Emirates has overtaken Canada for 19th.
