BS 6 Ford EcoSport is the latest car to add its name to the growing list of vehicles that are now compliant with the new emission norms, the new EcoSport  SUV will be offered with two BS 6 engine options: one petrol and one diesel. 

The Ford EcoSport diesel's price starts at Rs.8.54 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), by the way. And as for changes, well, besides the new engine options, the Ford EcoSport BS 6 model keep hold of the existing model's design, styling, and features.

In the features department, Ford has equipped the new EcoSport SUV with ample provisions, including automatic HID headlights, daytime running lights, rain-sensing wipers, electrochromic mirrors, and push-button start among others. 

The range-topping Ford EcoSport S also gets the SYNC 3 infotainment system with an eight-inch touchscreen, support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, etc. For connectivity, all variants in the range, namely, Ambiente, Trend, Titanium, Titanium+, and S, will receive the FordPass system.

For safety, the car gets front dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, high-speed alert systems, etc. as standard across the entire range. Variants on the other end of the range also get emergency brake assist, electronic stability control, traction control system, hill launch assist, and more.

Ford also continues offering the Thunder pack, available as an option with the Titanium variant; it includes cosmetic as well as feature-related provisions. So, there's a black front grille, black headlamps, and fog lamp bezel, electric sunroof, Thunder decals, 16-inch Sporty alloy wheels, front door scuff plate, black painted roof, etc. It also adds emergency brake assist, electronic stability control, traction control system, and hill launch assist.

The 2020 Ford EcoSport petrol will make use of Ford's three-cylinder 1.5-litre Ti-VCT petrol engine that generates a maximum power of 120 bhp with 149 Nm of peak torque. For transmission, this model will continue to be offered with the same options as its predecessor, i.e. a five-speed manual transmission and a six-speed automatic transmission.

Now, the diesel EcoSport SUV. This one is equipped with a BS 6-compliant 1.5-litre TDCi diesel engine that, in combination with a five-speed manual transmission, belts out 99 bhp power and a maximum torque of 215 Nm.
