Jio IPO Open Time
At 10.37 am on Oct 21 the grey market premium (GMP) for Jio Platforms was Rs 265 (per available data). With the price band ceiling at Rs 1,119 that implies a likely listing price of Rs 1,384 and a possible premium of 23.68%. The current GMP is down on the Rs 276 seen earlier today.
With the latest premium, a retail investor applying for one lot of 12 shares could potentially see a grey market gain of Rs 3,180 if the stock lists at Rs 1,384. That's just a grey market estimate, not a guaranteed return. GMP is unofficial and could well change prior to listing.

Religare Broking has issued a 'Subscribe – Long Term' recommendation on the Jio Platforms IPO, citing the scale of the company, its financials and the breadth of growth opportunities in 5G, digital services and enterprise technology. The company's valuation could be as high as $1.4trn by FY31. Religare sees the company as well positioned to benefit from increased data usage, greater broadband adoption, cloud migration, enterprise digitalisation, and growing demand for AI-enabled services.

The company's financials have also improved. EBITDA rose from Rs 54,959cr to Rs 76,255cr, and PAT rose from Rs 21,423cr to Rs 30,049cr. EBITDA margin was 51.9% in FY26, and PAT margin was 20.4%. The broker believes Jio Platforms' operating performance, the trajectory of its average revenue per user (ARPU), customer retention, and the potential of its digital services support a compelling long-term investment case. Master Capital Services also points to the immense growth potential of the Indian digital economy and Jio Platforms' role as a key enabler in mobile connectivity, broadband, digital entertainment, cloud, and enterprise technology.
Is Jio IPO worth buying? Broker Cautions Investors About Risks
How to Apply for Jio IPO: The broker sees potential for Jio Platforms to benefit from greater connectivity, increased broadband penetration, and growing demand for AI-enabled services. However, the broker also cautioned investors that risks remain. Religare Broking notes that Jio Platforms is heavily dependent on Reliance Jio Infocomm for the majority of its revenue and profits. A downturn in the telecom arm's performance would affect the parent company.
The broker also highlighted risks around telecom licensing and spectrum regulation, competition from satellite broadband, potential disruptions from telecom tower and fibre providers, and changes to net neutrality. Over 90% of Jio Platforms' revenue comes from telecom, so business performance will remain heavily dependent on the telecom business. Rapid subscription rates and strong institutional demand clearly signal interest in the IPO.
Jio IPO GMP Today
The latest GMP has come down, and retail and NII participation is below their respective allocations. For long-term investors, the IPO is a positive recommendation from Religare Broking for a fairly valued, concentrated business.
Jio IPO Grey Market Premium
Those applying primarily for listing gains should be wary, as a fully subscribed issue or a high grey market premium does not necessarily lead to a strong listing. The IPO is open until Oct 23, so investors have plenty of time to review the financials, the business, and the risks before deciding.
IPO Allotment Status
IPO allotment Status signifies the allocation of shares to an applicant in an IPO (Initial Public Offering) after submitting a bid. After the IPO, the subscription window closes, the registrar processes all bids, and later finalises the shares based on demand and regulatory guidelines.
Now understanding its working, a valid applicant gets the shares as requested. If demand exceeds the available shares, a random computerised lottery, in accordance with SEBI guidelines, determines allotment for retail investors. To check the allotment status, check the online status using your PAN card, Application number, and Client ID on the registrar's portal, stock exchanges, and the NSE portal.
