Akshay Kumar’s Convoy Vehicle Crashes: Actor Reportedly Safe

Akshay Kumar’s convoy vehicle was hit by an auto rickshaw on Monday night in Mumbai’s Juhu area. The actor and his wife, Twinkle Khanna, who were returning home from a trip abroad, were suddenly startled as one of their security entourage vehicles was hit by an auto, halting them.

Reportedly, the Auto rickshaw was hit by a speeding Mercedes and crashed into Akshay’s security escort vehicle.

What happened?

On 19 January, a car was reportedly involved in a major car accident and was said to be part of Akshay Kumar convoy, triggering concern among fans and industry insiders.

While the incident led to momentary alarm, reports suggest that the car the actor himself was travelling in (believed to be an SUV) was not harmed, nor was it involved in the accident.

It has been reported that an auto-rickshaw was hit by a speeding Mercedes, which further collided and rammed into vehicles that were part of Akshay’s security entourage. The collision alerted passersby, leading to a minor disruption. The exact cause of the accident has not yet been officially confirmed, and authorities are said to be assessing the situation.

The aftermath

Police officials reached the spot immediately following several calls that were made. The escort vehicle was removed from the road to ease traffic congestion.

Reportedly, two people have been injured by the incident and were rushed to the nearby hospital, where they are currently undergoing treatment.

The Juhu police have registered a case of rash and negligent driving against the Mercedes driver. Further investigation is underway, they said.

The response

Disturbing videos of the accident have gone viral on social media, which show the escort vehicle completely overturned onto its right side, and the auto-rickshaw was completely crushed from above.

One person remained trapped inside the auto-rickshaw, struggling to escape as bystanders and officials carried out rescue efforts. People at the scene assisted authorities in carefully pulling the injured man out of the severely damaged vehicle.

The auto-rickshaw driver also sustained injuries, and his condition is "serious", as per his brother.

Witness statements

"This incident happened around 8 to 8.30 pm. My brother was driving the rickshaw when Akshay Kumar's Innova and a Mercedes were behind it. When the Mercedes hit the Innova, the Innova crashed into the rickshaw. As a result, my brother and another passenger were trapped under it. The entire rickshaw was destroyed, and my brother is in very serious condition. My only request is that my brother receives proper treatment and that compensation is provided for the damage to the rickshaw. We don't want anything else," Mohammed Sameer, brother of the auto-rickshaw's driver, said in his statement to the press.

Witnesses said the Khiladi actor reportedly stepped out of his vehicle and helped his team lift the auto to pull the people under it free.

Eyewitnesses describe the situation as tense and panic-inducing as the auto was crushed badly. Thanks to the quick action by the actor’s team and the police's rapid response, the injured were rescued on time.

An eyewitness said, “It was scary to see the accident, but thankfully not many were hurt.”

The situation highlights the increasing number of car accidents that have been occurring in the last few years. In recent years, several actors and political figures have faced similar situations, often caused by traffic congestion and road conditions.

No statements have been made by Akshay Kumar or his teams. The actor’s fans have flooded social media with concern and worry regarding the accident. The police have assured that the situation is under control and hope for the speedy recovery of the injured.
