On Monday, a report came in about a non-bailable warrant issued by the Moradabad court against Ameesha Patel in a 2017 cheque-bounce case.
The complaint was filed by Pawan Kumar, who owns a company in Morabdabad.
Ameesha took to Instagram Stories to address an issue in a Moradabad court regarding her involvement in a cheque-bounce case.
The actress said it was an old case that had already been settled.
Furthermore, she said her lawyers would help her initiate criminal proceedings against the Moradabad company owner and complainant, Pawan Verma, for cheating.
Ameesha, who calls it an old, settled case, said that Pawan Verma had signed the settlement deed and got the whole agreed amount.
She also said that, despite this, he has lodged a complaint against her, making false allegations.
As a result, her lawyers will now initiate criminal proceedings against him and expose his lies.
This will help her focus on her work and ignore people who seek attention through false pretences.
Ameesha’s Old Legal Case: What Happened?
The recent court case against the actress Ameesha Patel has come to light after an old case involving her in a 2017 wedding event booking.
Complainant Pawan Verma claims that he paid an advance of Rs 14.50 lakh to the actress and arranged her accommodation at a hotel on Delhi Road, Moradabad.
She was hired to perform at a wedding on November 16, 2017, but didn’t attend.
Later, after the subsequent discussion with the event organiser, Ameesha promised to return the full amount.
She received a non-bailable warrant for failing to appear on the scheduled court date.
The actress must appear on March 27, 2026, as directed by the court.
Other cases of Cheque Bounce
In another case in 2023, she surrendered before the Ranchi Civil Court in connection with a cheque-bounce case from 2018.
The actress had to attend a programme at Harmu Ground in Ranchi. There, she met a businessman, Ajay Kumar Singh, with whom she discussed financing a film.
Ajay owns Lovely World Entertainment and has invested in the filmmaking project. When the film was not released, he wanted Ameesha to return his money.
She returned Rs 2.50 crore, but the cheque bounced. On November 21, the actress again made headlines for the same reason, when the cheque for Rs 32.25 lakh she had given to UTF Telefilm also bounced.
Ameesha’s Entertainment Career
Ameesha Patel made her debut alongside Hrithik Roshan in the 2000 blockbuster hit Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai.

Besides KNPH, Gadar 1 & 2, and Humraaz, Ameesha’s other films were not huge successes.
