Mrunal Thakur Surprised by 'Very Senior Actor' as Her Husband in Son of Sardaar 2

She revealed that she had no idea about the unexpected changes during the film, which really disappointed her.

Latest Hindi movies update: Mrunal Thakur, one of the talented actresses who has proved her mettle in both Hindi and South Indian films, recently revealed a fact about her previous movie ‘Son of Sardaar 2’.
She revealed that she did not know that she would be cast opposite a senior actor in this film.
The actress, who is currently promoting her recently released film Dacoit: A Love Story, spoke frankly during an interview about her expectations from the project, which did not fully align with what was shown on screen.
Mrunal Unaware of Casting Detail
Sharing her experience of being unaware of the main casting details, which changed how she viewed the film.
During her interview with journalist Prema, she said, ‘’"I didn't know a very senior actor was going to play my husband. Because that just changes my...this is not what I expected from the movie. So, there I failed. Because there was a little bit of trust that was shaken. But you know what, I don't have regrets."
Ajay Devgn News: In the movie ‘Son of Sardaar 2, she played Rabia, the wife of an estranged husband, Danish, played by Chunky Pandey.
Ajay Devgn, who plays the lead role, starred as Jaswinder Singh Randhawa, or Jassi. Neeru Bajwa played Dimple, his wife.
The story revolved around two characters, Rabia and Jassi, who faced turbulence in their marriages and later fell in love.
Mrunal Expresses Disappointment Over Removal of Her Scenes
Aside from being shocked by the casting, Mrunal was also disappointed when relevant scenes were cut during editing.
Here is what she said: "I did not know two important scenes of mine would be edited on the table. Like, there's this beautiful scene with Roshni and me. She's actually my sister's child, and my sister dies in the movie, it's just a narrative. And I give up my personal life for her betterment. She says, it's better I don't have a mother, I have you. And I pray that every girl gets a mother like you, even if you've not given birth to me. But the way you've taken care...that narrative was missing."
However, despite all this, Mrunal never had a personal tiff with anyone and continues to share a good rapport with the film’s team.

After dazzling as Rabia in Son of Sardaar 2, Mrunal turned heads in Do Deewane Seher Mein (2026), sharing the screen with Siddhant Chaturvedi—the same talent from Gehraiyaan (2022) alongside Deepika Padukone and Ananya Panday.
She recently appeared in Dacoit: A Love Story, where she plays Juliet opposite actor Adivi Sesh. The other star cast includes Anurag Kashyap, Prakash Raj, and Atul Kulkarni.
After this film, we will see Mrunal playing one of the females leads in an upcoming David Dhawan-directed Hai Jawaani Toh Ishq Hona Hai. Here, she will share screen space with Varun Dhawan and Pooja Hegde.
