Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love And War Pushed For Early 2027 Release: Report
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s much-awaited film Love And War has been pushed to a 2027 release in cinemas.
It was expected to be released this year, but it could not happen. Let’s find out the possible reasons for its delay.
Why is Love And War Delayed?
According to Pinkvilla, the delay is due to the film's shoot and post-production, which are taking longer than planned.
Sources close to production say a significant portion of the shoot is still underway.
Because of this, the makers have decided to redraft the film’s timeline and advance its release date.
As of now, filmmakers have made no official announcement. The report says that the team will conclude the principal photography by June.
After this, the film will enter post-production for an extended period.
The movie Love and War, being planned on a large scale, is also the key reason behind its delay.
This is because creating elaborate aerial action sequences requires heavy visual effects.
With Bhansali’s emphasis on visual detailing and production quality, the makers are in no hurry for the post-production process.
They are aware that the film requires careful technical excellence.
Avoiding a Clash With Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana
Apart from the above genuine reasons, another factor influencing Love And War's speedy release is Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana: Part 1.
This upcoming mythological Bollywood film is slated for release in November 2026.
The makers are trying to avoid the clash with the actor’s high-budget film. It will feature Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram.
Release Gap Strategy: More Marketing, Better Focus
According to industry observers, spacing out the releases will help both films receive better promotion and attract more audience interest.
Even though the shoot is expected to wrap in June, post-production might be completed by the end of the year.
So it is evident that the film will hit the theatres by 2027 (Republic Day) or maybe February (Valentine’s Day).
The delay is indeed testing the audience's patience, but for filmmakers, it is a good decision, as this is an ambitious project with visual appeal.
Love And War Starcast: Meet The Actors
Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed Love And War, a love triangle story featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal in the lead roles.
Where the male leads are rival army officers who fall for the same girl, played by Alia Bhatt.
The story's backdrop is war, and it explores rivalry, duty, desire, and sacrifice.
As of now, no more spoilers. Watch the film when it comes out.
