Sunny Deol's Border 2 Crosses Rs 100 Crore on Day 3

According to recent Flypped entertainment news, the much-awaited movie Border 2 has entered the Rs 100 crore club in just three days since its release on January 23, 2026.

Directed by Anurag Singh, the war drama has reportedly crossed Rs 150 crore in worldwide collections and received a positive response from the audience.

It starred Sunny Deol as Lieutenant Colonel Fateh Singh Kaler, a senior Indian Army officer, Varun Dhawan as Major Hoshiar Singh Dahiya, a Param Vir Chakra–winning Indian Army officer, singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh as Flying Officer Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon, a legendary Indian Air Force pilot, and Ahan Shetty, son of actor Suniel Shetty, as Lieutenant Commander M. S. Rawat, an Indian Navy officer.

The leading actresses who starred opposite these actors are Mona Singh, the wife of Sunny Deol’s character; Medha Rana, the wife of Varun Dhawan’s character; Sonam Bajwa, the wife of Diljit Dosanjh’s character; and Anya Singh, the wife of Ahan Shetty’s character.

Border 2 Revenue: How Much Did The Film Earn?

Based on the Sachnik report, trade website Border 2 performed well at the box office, earning Rs 121 crore net in India and Rs 158.3 crore worldwide in its opening weekend.

From its opening day, the film collected Rs 30 crore, followed by Rs 36.5 crore on the second day and Rs 54.5 crore on the third day.

The total counts Rs 129.89 crore NBOC. Before the 77th Republic Day, the movie generated a strong audience interest, recording an overall occupancy of 61.14%.

Where the morning shows recorded 31.46% occupancy, the afternoon shows recorded 68.93%, the evening shows 77.03%, and the night shows 67.15%.

Due to high demand, the theatre chains run post-midnight screenings at 3:00 AM in Mumbai and Bhayandar, Maharashtra.

Karan Johar Praises Border 2

The success of Border 2 also caught the attention of filmmaker Karan Johar, who applauded the movie, calling it a mega success.

He even wrote in his Instagram story that all Dhurandhars will cross the borders of excellence when their films strike an emotional chord with paying audiences. ‘’

Karan also came in support of actor Varun Dhawan, who was recently trolled on social media. According to him, Real always scores and puts down the social media noise.

Adding further, he said, it's easy to troll an artist for his smile, but in the end, he laughs when the film receives a good response from packed houses and love from the audience as well.

Hence, noisemakers and clickbait-seeking content can do what they want, but the truth will prevail in the end.

The story of Border 2 is based on the 1971 India-Pakistan conflict, focusing on the Indian armed forces' retaliation to Pakistan’s Operation Changez Khan.

This patriotic war drama continues the legacy of JP Dutta’s original Border on June 13, 1997. It portrays elements of bravery and sacrifices of the Indian armed forces across land, air, and sea.

It showcases military operations and soldiers' courage as they fight and defend their nation against the enemy.
