Let us present you with more facts about the presiding goddess and how to worship her on the ninth day.
Who is Maa Siddhidatri? Why She is Worshipped on Chaitra Navratri Day 9
Maa Siddhidatri is the ninth incarnation of Goddess Durga. Representing wisdom, knowledge, spiritual powers, and material comforts. The goddess leads her devotees on the path of spiritual growth.
Her four arms carry a lotus, a mace, a conch shell, and a chakra. Draped in a red or pink saree, the goddess's serene smile reflects her benevolent nature. Although her mount is a lion, she is also depicted sitting on a lotus.
As per Hindu belief, Lord Shiva himself obtained eight siddhis from her and assumed the form of Ardhnarishwar, a union of masculine and feminine energies. Worship of Maa Siddhidatri is also associated with Kanya puja, or Kanjak puja.
In this, devotees welcome nine young girls representing nine forms of Durga and offer them food and gifts.
