RCB Dressing Room Speech: Mo Bobat and Rajat Patidar Target Historic IPL Three-Peat
RCB Dressing Room Speech: Royal Challengers Bengaluru have just won their second Indian Premier League trophy in a row, and they’re not taking their foot off the gas.
After breaking an 18-year title drought last year, the team has turned into a powerhouse and now has its sights set on a record no other franchise has achieved.
RCB Dressing Room Speech: What Did Mo Bobat Say?
After RCB’s strong win over the Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2026 final in Ahmedabad on Sunday, team director Mo Bobat delivered an upbeat speech and wasted no time setting new goals for the team.
"I've got one last thing to say," Bobat told the team. "No team's ever won three in a row. Skipper, what do you think?

Mo Bobat speech: The question lifted the mood in the room. Virat Kohli and the rest of the squad cheered, excited by the chance to make history.
Skipper Rajat Patidar replied with confidence: "Definitely." No one can match Mo Bobat’s energy in that dressing room. Winning three titles in a row is extremely rare in elite sports.
Australia’s men’s cricket team from 1999 to 2007 is the most famous example. To even have a chance at that kind of greatness, Bobat said it’s crucial to build the right foundation from the start.

In a virtual press conference on Monday, Bobat talked about the key decisions made during the last mega auction that helped build this championship team.
At the time, critics were not impressed. "After our mega auction, I think we were ranked second from the bottom for squad quality by many broadcasters and experts," Bobat recalled. "Many people predicted we would finish last."
Instead of letting outside opinions distract them, the management stuck to their plan. "We didn’t let that affect our thinking or mindset," Bobat said.
"We knew exactly what kind of squad we wanted to build. We were clear about the team structure and the qualities we wanted in our players: a mix of skill and character."
Bobat also pointed out that while teams can’t win a tournament just at the auction table, they can definitely lose one there.
He explained, "it's quite hard to undo things that you then either regret... once you've got through your first mega auction."
RCB Winning Culture: Patidar’s Calm Leadership Became The Major Reason Behind RCB Success
A big reason for RCB’s back-to-back success has been Rajat Patidar’s calm leadership. Since becoming captain, Patidar has focused on working together with the team instead of leading alone.
"I always like to trust my instincts, but I also talk to the coaches and experienced players to get their ideas," Patidar explained.
"This is how I lead as captain. "With a strong leadership group supporting him, the team is ready to go from two-time champions to building a dynasty. Bobat believes great teams should never settle for past success.
"First, we need not to settle for that," Bobat said. "Because like any sports team, you want to have almost like a bit of an infinite goal that you're just always striving towards achieving something that constantly inspires your fans."
Virat Kohli RCB: Kohli’s Unbeaten 75 Powers RCB’s Confident Chase in Final
RCB got off to a strong start in the chase. Virat Kohli stepped up once again in a big final, staying unbeaten on 75. Venkatesh Iyer chipped in with a quick 32, giving RCB early momentum.
