Then came Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who chased the score easily with his attacking batting style from the start, posing a tough challenge to both fast bowlers and spinners.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi IPL 2026: Explosive Batting
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi news: Vaibhav Sooryavanshi proved his mettle as the generation next star with his explosive batting.
He hit a powerful six off Matt Henry and reached fifty with two more sixes off Noor Ahmad, setting one of the fastest half-centuries in IPL history.
Vaibhav also got lucky when a catch dropped by Kartik Sharma proved costly for CSK, as they missed the golden opportunity, after which he continued to score randomly.
Yashasvi Jaiswal Forms Good Partnership with Sooryavanshi
While Sooryavanshi was in good form, he got support from Yashasvi Jaiswal, who ensured he stayed on strike during the power play.
Rajasthan Royals wrapped up the game in mere 12.1 overs, with Jaiswal not out on 38 and Riyan Parag hitting the winning runs.
Sooryavanshi Credits Team Management for the Win
After winning the match, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi thanked the team management, including head coach Kumar Sangakkara, for supporting his natural style of play.
"I do think about defence, but today our plan was to control the game in the power play because in a small chase, that phase is crucial. If the bowling team does well there, the game can tilt their way, but our power play went really well," he said.
Adding further, he said, "The coaches just told me that they back me and that I should stick to my natural game and play according to the situation."
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Age
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, 15, also emphasised Jaiswal's role, saying his opening partner kept the communication and boosted his confidence in playing the best shots.
Bottom Line
From the beginning, the Rajasthan Royals had fared very well. In the case of CSK, the team needs to make more efforts to improve, especially after their recent poor batting performance and fielding errors, including the catch of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, which was dropped by Kartik Sharma.
