Weeks after calling off their engagement, Indian cricketer Prithvi Shaw and actor-influencer Akriti Agarwal came to a point when they wanted to give their relationship a second chance. And it happened when Akriti gave confirmation about her reconciliation with Shaw by giving her statement on Instagram on Monday. She took the onus of her stance in breaking the engagement and clarifying of getting wrongly influenced by people close to her.

Akriti Agarwal Instagram post: The message was shared by Prithvi Shaw on his Instagram story titled ‘ A personal clarification’. In this statement, it revealed that Akriti herself allowed the multiple opinions on her relationship with Prithvi. She mentioned of calling off the engagement, and asking opinions with people known to her. They appeared as if they knew more better about her equation with Indian cricketer.

Akriti Agarwal Statement on Engagement

Prithvi Shaw and Akriti Agarwal reconcile: According to Akriti, she later realised she had fallen victim to misguidance, which prevented a genuine conversation between her and Prithvi. Hence, today, she accepts that it was her decision for which she regrets as it has been hurtful. Adding further, she said of getting into open conversation with Prithvi, that gave them ample time to understand each other and being together once again.

Prithvi Shaw and Akriti Agarwal reconcile: In March 2026, Prithvi and Akriti announced their engagement by sharing photos of their proposal on social media. Then, in September, they ended their relationship as they planned their goals and future. Akriti’s current statement is totally opposite of her previous stance. However, the couple has not publicly revealed any details about the circumstances that led to their separation.

Prithvi Shaw: Once a Brightest Batting Cricket Star

Prithvi Shaw, 26, was once considered to be the brightest batting stars. Back in 2018, he even captained Indian team, leading to the Under-19 World Cup title before declaring himself with the highest level with a century on Test debut against West Indies later that year. But unfortunately, injuries, irregularity, and long absence became hindrance to his growing progress.

The right-handed batsman then shifted to Mumbai, ahead of the 2025-26 domestic season. He did so to rebuild his career. After that, he played an impressive innings, scoring 222 against Chandigarh in the Ranji Trophy last season. But despite this, he was kept out of India’s immediate plans.

Shaw got off to a very good start in the 2026-27 domestic season. Taking over as captain of Maharashtra (with Ruturaj Gaikwad away with India A) he scored 70 off 73 balls against Services at Palam A Stadium in New Delhi on Sunday. 8 fours and a six in that innings, he got Maharashtra off to a good start before being dismissed by left arm pacer Arjun Sharma just before lunch.
