John Abraham Lacked Acting Skills But Chose Roles That Suited His Looks: Rimi Sen
Actress Rimi Sen, who became a well-known face with films like Dhoom, Hungama, and Phir Hera Pheri, is no longer a part of the Bollywood industry. Now she is running a real estate business in Dubai.
Recently, in a podcast with Buildcaps Real Estate LLC, Rimi shared her working experience with Dhoom actor John Abraham. She called him a smart performer who is aware of his strengths and limitations.
However, in addition to such praise, she also mentioned that John lacked acting skills. Let’s uncover what led her to form such an opinion about the Diplomat actor.
John Abraham Lacked Acting Skills: Rimi Sen
Rimi’s statement on John Abraham's lack of acting skills may make his fans frown upon her. But she didn’t say this in the wrong way.
According to her, John Abraham was a model before becoming a Bollywood actor. At that time, he didn’t have that exposure to acting skills.
People doubted him, but he never retaliated and chose roles that suited his personality. These were the films that didn’t require him to act much, since most were John Abraham.
John did things that defined his visual appearance and didn’t leave any room for questions about the roles he chose.
Praising him as an ‘intelligent’ actor, she said he gained fame when people began to acknowledge his craft. She mentioned ‘’dheere dheere karte karte insaan acting seekh hi jaata hai’.
She added that one gains experience after working in front of a camera for a while. And the same happened with John, who opted for roles that gave him enough space to prove his acting prowess.
Strategically, he was right in his decisions since he was aware of his limitations. Rimi also said she had a good bond with the actor and felt he was smart at making wise decisions.
After excelling in acting, he also became a successful entrepreneur and switched to production, under which he delivered hit films.
Recalling Her Memories With Dhoom
Recalling her memories with Dhoom, a 2004 superhit action film directed by the late director Sanjay Gadhvi, it starred Abhishek Bachchan as ACP Jai Dixit, Uday Chopra as Ali Akbar Fateh Khan, Esha Deol as Sheena, and Rimi Sen as Sweety Dixit (wife of Abhishek’s Jai character).
Dhoom, produced by YRF (Yash Raj Films), became a blockbuster and spawned several follow-up franchises.
Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra remain the same across all the franchises; only the female lead and antagonist characters change after John Abraham’s Kabir dies in the end.
In the follow-up series, the antagonist roles were played by Hrithik Roshan as Aryan Singh, or Mr. A, in Dhoom 2 (2006), and by Aamir Khan in dual roles as Sahir Khan and Samar Khan in Dhoom 3.
Now, let’s see who will be the next in Dhoom 4. As far as rumours go, Ranbir Kapoor and South Indian star Suriya may become part of it.
In other words, there will be two villains in the next franchise. However, officially, it is not confirmed. You need to wait for future updates.
