India Bags 3 Gold, 2 Silver at Asian Archery Championships 2025
India's archers made the country proud by bagging three gold and two silver medals at the 24th Asian Archery Championships 2025 in Dhaka.
The AAI (Archery Association of India) updated this news of the win on the social media platform X. Jyothi Surekha Vennam won gold, defeating Prithika Pradeep by a 147 - 145 score.
Prithika performed well and secured a silver medal. AAI applauded both archers for their focus and composure throughout their performance.
Before this, the Indian Compound Women's Team, including Deepshikha, Prithika Pradeep, and Jyothi Surekha Vennam, grabbed gold after a victory over Korea 236 - 234 in the final. This victory boosted India's medal count.

Abhishek Verma & Deepshikha Keep India’s Golden Momentum Alive
India kept its winning streak alive when Abhishek Verma and Deepshikha grabbed gold in the Compound Mixed Team final, beating Bangladesh 153 -151.
In the men's team, Verma, Prathamesh Fuge, and Sahil Jadhav clinched silver after a close contest.
By winning medals in individual, team, and mixed events, India proved its dominance in compound archery, adding multiple medals to its credit in all categories.
Jyothi Surekha Vennam Delivers a Golden Double In Dhaka
Jyoti Surekha Vennam, the 29-year-old Indian ace woman archer, shone with double gold in individual and team at the Asian Archery Championships in Dhaka.
It is her eighth title in this sporting event. Now her target is the upcoming 2028 Olympic compound bow in Los Angeles.
With her spectacular victory in the Asian Archery Championship in Dhaka, Surekha now holds 8 Asian Championship titles, which she won between 2011 and 2025, in addition to the three individual gold medals from 2021 and 2015.
The Deputy Collector in the Government of Andhra Pradesh has a total of 90 international medals, including 33 gold and silver, and 24 bronze.
Bringing a Proud Moment For India With Her Consistent Performance
Jyothi's consistent performances have really made India proud. At 29, she now eyes to add an Olympic medal in the compound bow at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. According to her, focus and steady victories will help her reach this goal.
However, it appears discouraging as, despite her excellent performances at World Cups and the Asian Games, she never received the highly prestigious Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna award. Her achievements make her a bankable athlete in India.
