Iran Missile Attacks Force UAE to Shut Tehran Embassy
The United Arab Emirates recently made a declaration about the closure of its embassy in Tehran and also summoned Iran’s envoy to Abu Dhabi to stage a formal protest over ‘’Iran’s terrorist attacks’.
On day 3 of the conflict, there are fresh details on the previous day’s Iranian strikes on the UAE (United Arab Emirates) that have come forward.
Based on local media reports, the UAE Air Defence Forces have exploded 20 ballistic missiles, downed eight into the sea, and nullified two cruise missiles.
Even though they managed to stop 311 drones during the attack, many civilian areas were struck by 21 drones.
Israel-Iran War Update: Black Smoke Rises Over Dubai Industrial Area
According to the latest Iran-Israel war news, a black smoke was seen rising over an industrial area in Dubai, based on a satellite image shared by Reuters.
Suspension of the UAE’s two key exchanges, ADX (Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange) and DFM (Dubai Financial Market), is also reported until Tuesday, March 3, 2026.
Meanwhile, local media have reported the deaths of three people in the UAE amid Iranian attacks.
Notably, Abu Dhabi news has also revealed hundreds of missiles and drone strikes on Dubai and Abu Dhabi by Iran in response to actions by the United States and Israel.
Several Blasts Heard In Dubai & Abu Dhabi
According to the AFP report, loud bangs from multiple blasts in Dubai and Abu Dhabi were heard by journalists and residents.
Sirens sounded in Manama along with the explosion, and a journalist also heard a faint blast in the Qatari capital, Doha.
Dubai, known to be the UAE’s mainstream economic hub, also came under attack when Iran responded to joint strikes by the US and Israel.
It targeted US facilities in the region with explosions and drone interceptions across Dubai on Saturday.
Around 136 missiles and 209 drones were reported to have been fired by Iran that targeted the UAE.
Dubai International Airport Suffers Partial Damage Due to an Aerial Strike
One of the world’s busiest aviation hubs, Dubai International Airport, also suffered partial damage caused by an aerial strike on one of its main terminal buildings.
The airport authorities have confirmed the incident and stated that there was minor damage to the airport’s concourses.
However, it was controlled swiftly. But during the incident, four employees got injured.
A death of one person and seven wounded at the Abu Dhabi airport are also reported. According to Kuwait’s civil aviation authority, the airport was hit by a drone, in which some people sustained minor injuries, while there were slight damages to the passenger building.
Other Main Landmarks That Came Under Target
The UAE defence ministry has said that Dubai’s other key landmarks, such as the Palm Jumeirah area and the Burj Al Arab hotel, were also attacked, with fires and thick black smoke reported.
There were noises from the ambulances rushing to the scene. Around four people were injured and sent for medical treatment later.
Dubai Civil Defence confirmed a fire that was controlled promptly.
Indian Union Minister Assures Safe Return of Indian Nationals
Amid the ongoing UAE-Iran conflict, many Indians, including actresses Sonal Chauhan, Subhashree Ganguly, Esha Gupta and badminton player PV Sindhu, are affected.
According to PTI, India’s Union Minister Prahlad Joshi assured that the Centre will continue efforts to ensure the safe return of Indians stranded there.
However, he also said that the situation is currently very serious, to the point that there is even a risk of flying a plane.
