PM Modi Explores Israel's Cutting-Edge Tech at Jerusalem Exhibition During 3-Day Visit

During his visit to Israel, Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed Israeli tech firms to invest in India and work with Indian skilled talent.

He expressed this interest during his visit to an exhibition that highlighted pioneering innovations in artificial intelligence, agriculture, and healthcare.

Benjamin Netanyahu and Narendra Modi Jerusalem Exhibition Visit

On his visit to the Jerusalem exhibition on Wednesday, PM Modi was joined by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

As per his social media post, the Indian Prime Minister used an exhibition to showcase special innovations from the tech world.

PM Modi Israel Visit: Applauds Pioneering Work of Israel Youth

While attending the exhibition in Israel, Modi appreciated the work of Israeli youth in AI, healthcare, agriculture, cybersecurity, Quantum Computing, water resources, and more.

He even requested that Israeli companies come forward to invest in India and partner with its skilled workforce.

According to a press release, the exhibition featured top Israeli companies and research entities across fields such as artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, water technology, cybersecurity, climate technology, smart mobility, and health biotechnology.

Modi Statement in Israel: Innovation & Technology Are Two Key Pillars for Both Nations

According to PM Modi, innovation and technology are two key pillars of the India-Israel relationship.

Both nations are working together to develop solutions to the challenges they face in contemporary times.

This is all possible with the ‘India-Israel Innovation Bridge’ initiative.

During the walk-through, he also talked with tech experts, CEOs of many companies and scientists.

Impact of Foreign Investment in India

Addressing innovators, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that cutting-edge technologies on display hold great importance for levelling up India-Israel cooperation in innovation, start-ups, and business partnerships in agriculture (mainly), healthcare, water management, and digital services.

He also encouraged Israeli firms to pursue investment, manufacturing, and technology partnerships and to collaborate with India’s talented youth to jointly resolve global challenges.

​The Prime Minister was also updated on the Israeli Quantum Computing Centre (IQCC) and tools that make Quantum software development easier to use.

​Startup Ecosystem in India

In the fields of health technology and artificial intelligence, the start-up AISAP showcased its AI-based ultrasound system, which will help doctors diagnose in real time.

​Whereas the introduction of Tech Scout by Israel’s Science Ministry is about an AI tool that is efficient at tracking risks and future trends.

​In smart mobility, Mobileye demonstrated sensor and chip technologies that will help minimise road accidents.

A company, Check Point, also showcased its advanced threat protection technology and its collaboration with India.

​In water and farming, new technologies were showcased that could enable drinking water from the air, reduce food waste, and improve irrigation.

Among the other key elements showcased in Israel’s exhibition were energy, biotech, space innovations, and climate.

This is Narendra Modi’s second visit to Israel in nine years. He is currently in the country for 2 days, with the aim of strengthening bilateral ties between India and Israel in technology, innovation, defence, water management, and agriculture.
