Pride to India: ISRO Launches CARTOSAT-3, 13 Nano Satellites from Sriharikota

Latest ISRO Launch Updates: On 27th November 2019, India successfully launched Cartosat-3 along with 13 Nanosatellites of USA through Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle, in its forty ninth flight (PSLV-C47), from Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) SHAR, Sriharikota. Cartosat-3 and 13 commercial nanosatellites from Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) SHAR, Sriharikota was successfully launched through India’s PSLV-C47. PSLV-C47 was lifted-off at 9.28am (IST) on November 27, 2019 from the Second Launch Pad of SDSC SHAR, Sriharikota. So, proud to say that it is the 21st flight of PSLV in 'XL' configuration (with 6 solid strap-on motors). After 17 minutes and 38 seconds of lift-off, Cartosat-3 was injected into an orbit of 509 km at an inclination of 97.5 degree to the equator. The satellite Cartosat-3 is a third generation agile advanced satellite having high resolution imaging capability. 13 Commercial Nanosatellites from USA were also successfully injected into designated orbit. These satellites were launched under commercial arrangement with New Space India Limited (NSIL), the commercial arm of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). The dedication and hard work of Dr Sivan and his team has brought this great success to India. We are proud of such great scientist. This high resolution imaging capability agile advanced satellite was of third generation. The life of the Cartosat-3 mission is 5 years. It will address the increased user’s demands for large scale urban planning, rural resource and infrastructure development, coastal land use and land cover, etc. Dr K Sivan, ISRO Chairman greeted, congratulated and complimented the launch vehicle and satellite teams involved in the mission. He also acknowledged the support from Indian Industry. PSLV-C47 was the 21st flight of PSLV in 'XL' configuration (with 6 solid strap-on motors).
