US-Iran Peace Deal Set for Historic June 19 Signing as Trump Confirms Breakthrough
US Iran Peace Deal: Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced that the United States and Iran have agreed to a peace deal after intensive negotiations.
According to Sharif, both countries have committed to immediately and permanently stop all military operations, including activities in Lebanon.
US President Donald Trump later confirmed that an agreement had been reached.

Sharif shared the news on X on Sunday, describing it as a major diplomatic achievement after weeks of growing tensions in the Middle East. The agreement is expected to be officially signed in Switzerland on June 19.
Soon after Sharif's announcement, Trump confirmed the development of Truth Social, saying that talks with Iran had ended successfully.
"The Deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete. Congratulations to all!" Trump wrote.
US Iran Negotiations: Trump Warns U.S. May Renew Strikes if Iran Fails to Reach Nuclear Deal
US Iran Ceasefire: In an interview with The New York Times, Trump said that if Iran fails to reach a final nuclear agreement with Washington, the United States could consider renewing military strikes or pursuing a broader regional arrangement.
He also said the agreement would ensure that the Strait of Hormuz remains permanently open and free for shipping.

Washington Tehran Talks: Defending the deal against criticism from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump said his approach helped prevent a dangerous situation that could have threatened Israel's security.
If signed as planned on June 19, the agreement would mark a significant step toward reducing tensions between Washington and Tehran.
However, its long-term success will depend on both sides fulfilling their commitments and continuing to cooperate.
Pakistan Mediation: Sharif Says US-Iran Deal Could Boost Middle East Stability
US Iran Peace Deal: Sharif said the breakthrough was achieved through extensive diplomatic efforts involving several regional mediators.
He thanked the United States and Iran for choosing dialogue over conflict and expressed hope that the deal would bring greater stability to the Middle East.
The Pakistani prime minister also credited Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Turkey for helping facilitate the negotiations.
According to Sharif, their combined efforts played an important role in bridging differences between the two sides.

In the coming days, mediators are expected to hold meetings to discuss the implementation of the agreement.

Trump Reopens Strait of Hormuz, Orders End to US Naval Blockade
Trump also announced measures related to maritime trade in the Gulf region. He said he had authorised the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz to commercial shipping and ordered the removal of the US naval blockade.
"Ships of the World, start your engines. Let the oil flow!" Trump wrote, signalling the restoration of shipping through one of the world's most important energy routes.
Global Energy Markets Get Relief as Iran Reopens Strait of Hormuz
US Iran Peace Deal: The Strait of Hormuz is a key passage for global oil and gas exports, making its reopening highly significant for international trade and energy markets.
Iran's National Security Council said the maritime blockade would be lifted immediately under the newly finalized memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the United States.
The council added that all military operations across multiple fronts, including Lebanon, would stop immediately and permanently.
June 19 Switzerland Signing
Iran US Relations: The MoU is expected to be formally signed on June 19, while talks on a broader and more comprehensive agreement will begin after both sides start implementing their commitments.
Iranian officials said lifting the blockade would help restore normal shipping and trade flows.
US Iran Peace Deal: Iran's Tasnim News Agency reported that the Strait of Hormuz is likely to reopen after the MoU is signed, calling it an important step toward restoring commercial shipping and easing disruptions to global energy trade.
Meanwhile, Iran's Mehr News Agency reported details of a proposed 14-point draft agreement between Iran and the United States.
US Iran Latest News: Draft Deal Calls for Ceasefire, Sanctions Relief, and Reopening of Strait of Hormuz
According to the report, the draft includes an immediate end to military operations, the lifting of the US naval blockade within 30 days, the easing of sanctions on Iranian oil and petrochemical exports, and the release of $24 billion in Iranian funds currently blocked abroad.
The draft also reportedly proposes reopening the Strait of Hormuz within 30 days and launching 60 days of negotiations on nuclear issues and sanctions relief.
It excludes Iran's missile programme and support for resistance groups from future discussions.
US Iran Latest Update: US Allies Eye $300 Billion Iran Reconstruction Package
According to the report, the United States and its allies would also be expected to present reconstruction plans worth at least $300 billion for Iran.
Any final agreement would ultimately require approval through a United Nations Security Council resolution.
