Tarun Kumar Delhi Case: How Did Violence Start?
Family members of the deceased claim that the violence started when an 11-year-old girl, playing Holi on her terrace, threw a water balloon at relatives standing below.
The balloon landed on the road and burst, splattering coloured water onto a woman from another family who happened to be passing by.
Among the injured during the family clash was Tarun’s grandfather, Maan Singh, who alleged that the woman got infuriated when hit by the splashes of a water balloon.
She then started hurling abuses at the deceased’s family members over the incident.
According to him, she soon summoned her relatives and community, who attacked as the celebration continued.
Singh further stated that although the dispute initially seemed resolved, the accused gathered again later and attacked Tarun as he was returning home after the Holi celebration.
Singh further claimed that the woman's family assaulted him relentlessly. Even while he lay defenceless on the road, someone hurled a large stone at his chest.
Tarun Was Not Involved in Any Previous Altercation, Says Uncle Ramesh
Besides Tarun’s grandfather, Maan Singh, his uncle Ramesh also alleged that Tarun had no record of any dispute prior to this. He could hardly have imagined that he would be attacked.
His uncle described how, upon entering the street, Tarun was attacked with sticks, rods, and stones by eight to ten people.
According to him, his nephew was not involved in any altercation before, yet he faced such inhuman treatment that he was beaten so mercilessly.
Severely injured, he was rushed to the hospital but died during treatment.

After the death of Tarun, his family is now demanding the immediate arrest of his killers.
They are requesting the police to see the CCTV footage of the area to identify the people behind his death.
