RCB Script Historic Double as Mandhana Leads WPL 2026 Glory

“Ee sala kuda cup namdu.” Once again, the chants have roared through the stadium as Royal Challengers Bengaluru won.

On a thrilling Thursday night, RCB defeated the Delhi Capitals by six wickets to win the Women’s Premier League 2026, claiming the title for the second time.

WPL 2026 Final Highlights: RCB wins again

Chasing a rough target of 204 in the finals, RCB pulled off a memorable run chase, taking home the trophy with two balls to spare. The core of this victory was captain Smriti Mandhana, who played a breathtaking knock of 87 off just 41 balls.

The calm under pressure yet ruthless batsman Mandhana has once again proven why she is regarded as one of the finest cricketers in the world.

But Mandhana was not alone. She made the perfect duo with Georgia Voll, who matched her intensity with a superb 79. The pair stitched together a 165-run partnership, completely shifting the momentum of the match, silencing the Delhi crowd. Their stand laid the foundation for one of the most iconic chases in WPL history.

Has RCB ever won WPL?

This is RCB's second win in the WPL. This win also marked a historic moment in Indian franchise cricket. RCB ended their long drought by winning the IPL last year. With the WPL title now secured, the Bangalore-based franchise has firmly established itself as a powerhouse.

Virat Kohli, the face of RCB for over a decade, was quick to share his joy. Shortly after the finale, he liked RCB’s celebratory post on Instagram and followed it up with a heartfelt message congratulating the team and skipper Smriti Mandhana, who famously wears the same jersey number as him. Kohli praised the team and management, acknowledged the unwavering support of RCB fans, and called the victory something each of them can be proud of.

The RCB Vs DC highlights

The match win came as a pleasant surprise for the fans. The RCB vs DC highlights included the moment RCB lost the toss, DC chose to bat, and made full use of the batting-friendly surface.

Jemimah Rodrigues led the team with a fluent 57, Lizelle Lee followed with 37, Laura Wolvaardt with 47, and Chinelle Henry ended with 37, ensuring a tough match for RCB to win, with a strong 203/4 in their 20 overs.

RCB’s chase began on a shaky note as Grace Harris departed early, but Mandhana and Voll quickly took charge, attacking the bowlers with confidence and composure. Even after both set batters were dismissed, the drama wasn't over with 10 runs needed off the final over. Radha Yadav kept her nerves, smashing boundaries off the third and fourth deliveries to seal the title.

Delhi Capitals lose yet again.

The loss was sadly heartbreaking for the Delhi Capitals again, who suffered their fourth consecutive defeat in a WPL final. Jemimah, the captain of the DC team, appeared on the verge of tears but managed to finish the moment with a heartfelt, lengthy embrace with Mandhana on the field.
For RCB, it was a night of celebration, pride, and history, a victory their fans will remember for years to come.
