Zimbabwe vs Bangladesh 2nd ODI: Ben Curran scored a century to lead Zimbabwe to a 13-run win over Bangladesh in Harare on Thursday. 

Zimbabwe wins ODI series 2-0: With this victory, Zimbabwe now leads the three-match one-day international series 2-0.

Opener Curran carried his bat and finished unbeaten on 111, helping Zimbabwe reach 247 for six.

Zimbabwe vs Bangladesh Match Report: Bangladesh was bowled out for 234 on the first ball of the penultimate over. Zimbabwe had also won the first ODI by 25 runs on Monday. 

The final match of the series is on Saturday, but Zimbabwe has already clinched the series. Afterwards, both teams will travel to Bulawayo for a three-match Twenty20 series starting July 15.

Ben Curran Century: Ben Curran Carries Bat Through 300 Balls in Historic ODI Innings

Zimbabwe vs Bangladesh 2nd ODI: Curran, whose brothers Sam and Tom play for England, is now the seventh Zimbabwean to bat through all 300 balls in a one-day international. 

He had an early reprieve when Towhid Hridoy dropped a catch at short cover while Curran was on just four runs.

Zimbabwe was struggling at 66 for four, but Curran and lower-order batter Brad Evans, who finished unbeaten on 58, added 99 runs for the seventh wicket. 

Curran has yet to hit a six in an ODI, but he found the boundary nine times in his 135-ball innings and grew more confident as he batted. 

Evans' innings included five sixes and two fours. 

Bangladesh lost two wickets with only 38 runs, but opener Tanzid Hasan (57) and middle-order batter Hridoy (60) put together an 84-run stand for the third wicket, taking the visitors to 122 for three. 

With just one wicket left, Bangladesh needed 14 runs from the last two overs. Their chances ended when captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz (27) was caught by Evans near deep square leg.

On a difficult pitch with limited scoring chances, Curran made 111 from 135 balls and guided Zimbabwe to 247 for 6 in 50 overs. 

Some fans may wonder if the 30-year-old is related to Sam and Tom Curran. 

Ben Curran is the brother of English cricketers Sam and Tom Curran, who have both played for England in different formats. 

Their father, Kevin Curran, was part of Zimbabwe’s 1983 World Cup team that famously beat Australia. 

Ben Curran Player of the Match: Ben has played T20, first-class, and one-day cricket for Northamptonshire, but was released after the 2022 season. 

He scored his first ODI century against Ireland in February 2025, making 118 from 130 balls with 14 boundaries to help Zimbabwe win by nine wickets.

In the match against Bangladesh in Harare on July 9, Curran hit nine boundaries and finished unbeaten on 111. 

His unbroken partnership of 99 with Brad Evans, who was 58 not out from 38 balls, was the highlight of the innings. 

Zimbabwe Defend 125, Beat Bangladesh in Low-Scoring Thriller

In a low-scoring contest, Zimbabwe defended 125 to secure a 25-run win over Bangladesh.

Nahid Rana took six wickets for Bangladesh, while Evans and Richard Ngarava each took three wickets to bowl out the visitors for 116.
