Diljit Dosanjh Delhi Concert Statement

Without mentioning any political party, Diljit addressed the crowd at a Delhi concert and expressed his love for them as an artist. He added that he wants to remain quiet but supports all of them. Dosanjh also warned against schooling Punjabis to fight. He also objected to mocking of his film on stage, which is based on Jaswant Singh Khalra's life. It took a long time to fight for this film. According to him, if someone shows hatred, that's okay on his side; he loves everyone else.

Diljit Dosanjh NEET Protest Remarks

Reminding Dosanjh about the protest in June, Dipke took to Instagram and mentioned that he did not like his comment and was hurt by it. The CJP leader clarified that it was nothing like a personal grudge against him, but he has seen him as someone who shares his opinions for the cause, as he (Dosanjh) said himself. Dipke added that his admiration for him hasn't changed, as he still finds his music interesting. Moreover, he even came to his Chicago concert in May. Dipke also praised the singer's courage and authenticity in representing India globally while staying true to his roots.

Abhijeet Dipke Instagram Post

Abhijeet Dipke apologises to Diljit Dosanjh: In his writing on Instagram, Dipke mentioned that the comment must have offended him a little, since he has always regarded Dosanjh. But one misunderstanding and disapproval cannot wash off the respect and admiration he had for the singer. He concluded with a pacifying message: “Please consider me as your younger brother,” and ended with a Punjabi song line.

When Diljit Denied to Become Part of CJP Protests

Abhijeet Dipke apologises to Diljit Dosanjh: The disagreement between Dosanjh and Dipke arose when the Punjabi singer kept his distance from the ongoing protests at Jantar Mantar over alleged examination irregularities and controversy surrounding the NEET paper leak. During the Instagram Live session, CJP asked the singer to join the protests, which he declined, saying he is just an artist, not a politician, and he cannot figure out what they think of him. Dosanjh then quoted a phrase from Guru Granth Sahib: Nanak dukiya sab sansaar (In this world, no one is happy).

Adding further, he said, one cannot expect everything to be right in this world. He congratulated those protesting, and he was unaware of the protest. These words did not strike the right chord with many who compared his actions to the 2020 farmers' agitation, when he (Dosanjh) publicly supported farmers and opposed the now-repealed farm laws.

Diljit Dosanjh Satluj Controversy

Coming to Satluj, the film drew controversy about the objectionable content. The movie was released on ZEE5 but was later dropped. It took around three years to get the film released after approval from the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification), but the board refused to approve it. The story of the Khalra in this film highlighted the killings and unknown cremations in Punjab between 1980 and 1990. Because of security concerns and the risk of misuse by anti-national elements, the government removed the film from OTT within 2 days.
