Manish Malhotra's Diwali Party: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan brought the romantic atmosphere to Manish Malhotra's Diwali party in Mumbai on Thursday night. They arrived together and were seen posing for a photo, Aishwarya in red and Abhishek in black. It was a fully Bollywood star-studded event, with many other celebrities joining in.

Celebrity couple appearance: The party was well attended, with the usual crop of Bollywood A-listers, including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Akshay Kumar, Twinkle Khanna, Madhuri Dixit, Kajol and Karan Johar. The couple were the centre of attention at the party with a number of sweet gestures. Abhishek was seen holding Aishwarya's hand, and she was quite flustered.

They were seen sharing lots of smiles and affectionate glances as they posed for pictures. On Instagram, several paparazzi were in awe of the couple. One user said he just couldn't look away from Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and another noted that she looked happy for the first time in a while.

Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan at Diwali party: Aishwarya wore a red saree with a gold border, kundan jewellery, matching bangles, and red lipstick. Abhishek wore a black ethnic jacket, black trousers, and glasses. Kareena wore a gold-and-silver saree, and Saif wore black. Akshay was there with his wife, Twinkle, and their son, Aarav, all in matching ivory.

Madhuri was there with her husband, Dr Shriram Nene (who was also in attendance), in a pink saree. Kajol was there with her daughter Nysa. Karisma Kapoor, Raveena Tandon, Karan Johar and Shalini Passi were also there.

Aishwarya and Abhishek have been married for 19 years. They met while working on Dhaai Akshar Prem Ke in 2000 and married on April 20, 2007. They have worked together in Kuch Naa Kaho, Umrao Jaan, Guru, Raavan and Dhoom 2. Their daughter Aaradhya was born in 2011.

Aishwarya Recalls Having No Knowledge of Roka Ceremony

A roka ceremony took place at Aishwarya's house after Abhishek proposed. Aishwarya said she didn't know what a roka was, as she comes from a South Indian family, and was completely taken aback when Abhishek's family suddenly phoned to say they were coming over.

Aishwarya remembered Abhishek calling her in a rush to say his family were on the way, and she just said, 'Oh my God!' Her father, Krishnaraj, was away and joined the roka over the phone, so the roka took place over the phone.

Her mother, Brindya Rai, was also completely taken aback. When Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan and the rest of the family arrived, Aishwarya and her mother were still trying to work out what was going on. Aishwarya actually asked her mother if this was an engagement.

Abhishek and Aishwarya on Work Front

Abhishek was last seen in Raja Shivaji. He will next be in King (the action thriller by SRK), directed by Siddharth Anand and set to release on 24th December. Aishwarya's last film in theatres was Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan II. Abhishek is preparing for his next film, King, while Aishwarya has not announced any new projects.
