Lead Actress of Force 3

In the first two instalments of the Force franchise, we saw Genelia D’Souza and Sonakshi Sinha play the main female lead.

This time, actress Tanya Maniktala will be the new face in Force 3. Let’s know about her below.

Tanya Maniktala grew up in Delhi and graduated with a degree in English Literature from Shivaji College in 2018.

She started acting in street plays with her college theatre group, Vayam.

In 2017, TVF Rajdhani, the Delhi branch of The Viral Fever, was looking for actors for a YouTube web series called 'The Timeliners.'

After seeing Tanya perform in a street play, the creators invited her to audition for the role of 'Ishita' through her neighbour, Shivam Kakar.

Tanya was unsure at first because she did not want to miss classes or her final exams.

After discussing it with her older sister, who encouraged her to give it a try, Tanya auditioned and got the role of Ishita in Flames (2018).

Although Tanya's first show was well received, it did not lead to more acting opportunities.

She auditioned for several roles but was not selected, so she left acting and became a copywriter at an advertising firm in Gurgaon, Haryana.

In 2019, a college friend who worked at a casting agency told her about auditions for Mira Nair's A Suitable Boy (2020), the official adaptation of Vikram Seth's novel for BBC One and Netflix.

After several rounds of auditions with casting director Dilip Shankar and director Mira Nair, Tanya found out she had been chosen to play 'Lata,' the lead role.

In June 2021, Tanya Maniktala was chosen as one of ten participants in the first BAFTA Breakthrough India initiative.
