Ranveer and Deepika Hike Security After WhatsApp Extortion Threat
Like the general public, celebrities can fall victim to cyber fraud, with actor Ranveer Singh the latest.
The Dhurandhar actor received an extortion threat in a WhatsApp voice note, in which the sender demanded crores from him.
Recent Security Escalation by Ranveer - Deepika Post WhatsApp Threat Call
After a WhatsApp threat call, actor-couple Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone took swift action to tighten security without the ‘permission’ of the Society Managing Committee at their Mumbai residence.
As revealed in the official letter from the housing complex to the Dadar Police Station, the couple had armed personnel deployed outside their house for security.
The update followed multiple reports that Ranveer Singh received a threatening call from a caller claiming to have links to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
Referring to this gang, it has been involved in the recent attack on filmmaker Rohit Shetty at his Mumbai residence on February 8, 2026, early Sunday.
Other celebrities targeted by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang include actor Salman Khan and comedian Kapil Sharma.
To remind you, this gang is responsible for the killing of Mumbai’s political leader, Baba Siddique. He ended the cold war between Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan.
Committee Expresses Serious Concern Over Other Residents’ Safety
Beyond the celebrity couple, the committee takes Ranveer-Deepika's security seriously and is now concerned for other residents of the complex.
The armed personnel are keeping a close watch in the lobby, children’s area, and gymnasium. They are all equipped with weapons.
The letter has requested that the police verify the guards’ IDs and confirm whether they are authorised to carry the weapons in the building.

Rising High With Dhurandhar
Actor Ranveer Singh is on a high after his blockbuster film Dhurandhar became the highest-grossing Indian film of 2025.
He played Hamza, a spy sent to Pakistan to infiltrate terror networks in Lyari.
In addition to him, the other notable appearances in the film included Sanjay Dutt as SP Chawdhary, Arjun Rampal as Major Iqbal, Akshaye Khanna as Rehman Dakait, R Madhavan as Ajay Sanyal, and Rakesh Bedi as Jameel Jamali.
It marked the debut of Sara Arjun, who plays the love interest of Ranveer’s character. It also starred Saumya Tandon, a famous actress from Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hai.
She plays the role of Akshaye’s character, Rehman Dakait. Even though it was a short role, she made her mark in the movie, which is now streaming on Netflix.
The second part is slated to release on March 19, 2026.
Deepika Padukone’s Upcoming Film
Regarding Deepika Padukone, Bollywood’s dimpled beauty, she was last seen in Singham Returns.
She will be next seen with Shah Rukh Khan in King.
Ranveer and Deepika got married on November 14, 2018, in a private ceremony at Lake Como in Italy.
On September 8, 2024, they became parents to a girl, whom they named Dua.
