Salman Khan in Legal Trouble Over Paan Masala Ad
Salman Khan has landed in legal trouble after a paan masala advertisement surfaced. It shows him claiming that every grain of the spice contains saffron on behalf of Rajshree Company.
He has been issued a legal notice by the Kota consumer court in Rajasthan. The complaint was filed by Inder Mohan Singh Honey.
The senior BJP leader, and advocate at the Rajasthan High Court, has accused the actor of misleading the youth to consume paan masala, which is harmful for them.
He further alleged that the description of products on the brand's advertisement, using a saffron-infused cardamom and saffron-infused paan masala, is misleading.
Why Rajasthan HC Advocate Calls Salman Khan’s Ad Misleading
The reason why Salman Khan is facing a legal notice is because of the advertisement that presents misleading information.
The petition questioned that saffron, an expensive spice in the world, costs around Rs 4 lakh per kilogram, and is available at Rs 5.
Hence, it is a clear case of false advertising that is misleading consumers. Mohan Singh further raised a point that when these celebrities refrain from endorsing ads for soft drinks, why do they appear in advertisements related to tobacco and paan masala?
According to the complainant, his main motive is to advise Salman Khan not to promote such products that send a wrong message to the youth. He should know that paan masala is one of the prime reasons behind oral cancer.
The notices are issued to the Bollywood actor and the manufacturer of Rajshree products. They are supposed to submit their response before 27th November 2025.
Bollywood Stars Apart from Salman Khan in Paan Masala Commercials
Salman Khan, who earlier featured in Rajshree Elaichi, a product of the same company behind the production of Rajshree Paan Masala, was not directly involved in endorsing the paan masala variant, as per reports.
But it was not convincing for the complainant, who claimed that both products are associated with each other and are responsible for confusing consumers.
Well, it is not just Salman who is solely to blame for his appearance in the paan masala ad. The other actors who have faced criticism for endorsing paan masala brands include Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, and Ajay Devgan.
On the professional front, Salman is busy with the latest Big Boss season. He is also shooting for his upcoming movie, Battle of Galwan.
According to reports, the makers of this movie are planning to release it in June 2026. The story is on the real-life clash between Indian and Chinese forces in the Galwan Valley in 2020. Chitrangada Singh will be the leading actress opposite Salman.
