Bihar Elections Phase 1: Facts You Shouldn’t Miss
The first phase of the Bihar Elections has started today, on November 6, Thursday, spanning 121 of the State’s 243 constituencies.
In the first round, there are 37.5 million voters for the Bihar elections 2025, including 1.07 million first-time voters.
Among the 1,314 candidates in this phase are RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal) leader Tejaswi Yadav and Samrat Choudhary, the Deputy Chief Minister of the BJP (Bhartiya Janata Party).
The other prominent candidates to watch are Maithili Thakur from the BJP, Aliganj; Kesari Lal Yadav from the RJD, Chhapra; and Ritesh Pandey from the Jan Suraj Party, Kargahar.
Voting will be conducted at 45,341 polling stations, including 36,733 in rural regions.
‘’Cast Your Votes Enthusiastically’’: PM Modi To Voters
During Phase 1 of the Bihar assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi encouraged voters to cast their votes with full enthusiasm.
On his post on X, he expressed special congratulations to his young companions who will experience voting for the first time. He further reminded - First voting, then refreshments!''
At an election rally in Araria, PM Modi said he could hear only the voice coming from all corners of Bihar. ''Phir Ek Baar NDA Sarkaar''.
Besides PM, Home Minister Amit Shah also urged the youth to cast their votes on X and prevent Bihar from Jungle Raaj.
He encouraged them that their vote would result in shaping the future of the state with modern education for everyone, uplifting the poor, and raising employment opportunities.
Good Luck To Both My Sons: Rabri Devi
Former Bihar CM and leader of RJD, Rabri Devi, wished both her sons, Tej Pratap and Tejaswi Yadav, good luck when she arrived to vote. She also appealed to the people of Bihar to vote as it is their right.
NDA vs Mahagathbandhan in Bihar’s first phase
In the first phase, we will see a direct face-off between the BJP and RJD in 23 seats, JD(U) and RJD in 33 seats, and then it will be JD(U) versus Congress in 10 seats.

Key Highlights of Bihar Elections Phase 1
Here are some key facts to know about the Bihar assembly seats.
- The number of candidates participating in the first round will be 1,314. It includes males (1,192) and females (122).
- Out of the total 3,75,13,302 eligible voters, there are 1,98,35,325 men, 1,76,77,219 women, and 758 are third gender.
- Voters aged between 18-19 years are 7,37,765 in total, whereas those with 100 years of age are around 6,736.
- Out of 45,341 polling stations, 36,733 are rural, 8,608 (urban), 926 (women-run), 320 (model), and 107 (persons with disabilities).
