Bollywood Veteran Star Dharmendra Fighting for Life in Hospital
Dharmendra, popularly described as the original ‘Heman’ of Bollywood, is in critical condition. Fans who grew up watching his films are praying for his well-being. Last week, the actor complained of breathlessness and was rushed to Mumbai’s Breach Candy hospital.
Actor Sunny Deol earlier refuted the claims about his father’s critical condition and assured that he will recover soon. Actress Hema Malini and her daughter Esha Deol have also requested not to believe the false news of the actor's death that has circulated so far. According to them, he is stable and recovering.
Dharmendra: A Timeless Legend of the Silver Screen
Dharmendra had been one of the greatest actors in Indian cinema. He started his career in the 1960 film ‘Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere’.
Felicitated with Padma Bhushan in 2012, the actor is also credited with memorable performances in classics like Anupama, Satyakam, Bandini, Mera Gaon Mera Desh, Sholay, Dream Girl, Blackmail, The Burning Train, Dharam Veer, Chupke Chupke, Apne, Johnny Gaddar, and Life in a Metro.
In April this year, he underwent an eye graft surgery but was later discharged from the hospital. The ailing actor even had an interaction with the paparazzi, saying he is a strong man, “Abhi bohot dum hai, abhi bhi bohot jaan hai… Meri aankh mein graft hua hai.’’
Dharmendra last appeared in Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Diya, in which he shared screen space with Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon. He was about to appear next in the family drama thriller Maine Pyaar Kiya Phir Se, with Arbaaz Khan.

Glimpse Of His Early Life
Born as Dharmendra Kewal Krishan Deol, he was born in a village in Ludhiana, Punjab. At the age of 19, he got married to Prakash Kaur and fathered sons Sunny and Bobby. When he entered the film industry, he fell in love with his fellow actress Hema Malini and married her. With her, he has daughters Esha Deol and Ahana Deol.
