Twisha Sharma mother-in-law arrested: On Thursday, the CBI arrested Giribala Singh. She is the mother-in-law of 33-year-old Twisha Sharma, who was found dead at her in-laws' house in Bhopal on May 12.
The arrest happened just hours after the Madhya Pradesh High Court cancelled Singh’s anticipatory bail in the case.
Twisha Sharma Death Case: CBI Team Visits Singh’s Home
CBI arrests Giribala Singh: A member of the CBI team went to Singh’s home around 10:30 am today and questioned her as part of the investigation. The agency also used digital mapping technology to examine the house, sources said.
Since taking over the case this week, the CBI has stepped up its efforts.
Sources said the agency is planning to open a temporary office in Bhopal and has requested a secure space from the city’s Police Commissioner to store documents and evidence related to the investigation.
Giribala Singh Anticipatory bail Cancelled By Madhya Pradesh High Court
Today, the Madhya Pradesh High Court cancelled the former judge’s anticipatory bail, referring to the facts and allegations in the case.
Samarth Singh CBI custody: On May 15, a sessions court granted anticipatory bail to Singh, who, along with her son Samarth Singh, faces charges of dowry harassment.
Judge Devnarayan Mishra said that, considering the facts of the case and the allegations against Giribala Singh, the anticipatory bail granted by the additional sessions judge has been cancelled.
CBI arrests Giribala Singh: On Wednesday, Solicitor General of India Tushar Mehta, representing the CBI, argued that the manner in which anticipatory bail was granted raises doubts about whether the trial court considered all relevant aspects, according to the order.
After Singh’s anticipatory bail was cancelled, lawyer Anurag Shrivastava, who represents the victim's family, said, "Finally, justice is done in the case"

Bhopal death case: Twisha’s lawyers said her in-laws did not let her live a happy life or express her feelings, leaving her "badly stuck."
After receiving anticipatory bail, the mother-in-law held a press conference on May 18 and tried to harm the deceased’s reputation with various allegations, the lawyers told the Madhya Pradesh High Court.
They claimed that Singh used her skills to tamper with the crime scene. Because of this, they said the trial court should have examined the evidence more carefully and that the order granting anticipatory bail should be cancelled.

Twisha Sharma case latest news: After the court cancelled Giribala’s anticipatory bail, the victim’s father, Navnidhi Sharma, thanked the judiciary and everyone who has supported his family in their search for justice.
Navnidhi Sharma told the media, “I express my gratitude to everyone who has stood by us so far in this fight for justice.
He prayed that this would be only the first step. He also thanked the Supreme Court and the Chief Justice of India for taking notice of the case.
Sharma said the high court’s order sends an important message to society and that he trusts the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to continue its investigation.
“This has sent a very positive message to society. I trust the judicial process, especially the CBI, to uncover and reveal the complete truth,” he added.
