Claude AI Can Now Automate Tasks on Your Computer

According to the latest Claude AI news update, Claude will now have full access to your computing device and will perform tasks on its own.

Yes, it’s true. Anthropic, an AI safety and research company, has added a new feature to Claude that lets it fully access your computer, enhancing your productivity and making tasks easier.

With this provision, AI can manage your tasks on your behalf when you are away. This feature launched just days after the company's 'Dispatch' launch, letting you monitor Claude on your phone.

Claude vs Human

Anthropic is heading to bring changes to the way you use Claude. Now, you don’t have to set your eyes in front of your computer and give instructions to the AI.

Instead, you can grant Claude full access to your computer, and the rest will take care of itself. This seamless integration aims to make your daily tasks more manageable and stress-free.

Here’s a guide on how it works.

Claude Anthropic AI: Know Its Functioning

On X, Anthropic announced a new feature for Claude that lets the AI assistant fully monitor your computer.

Now, Claude will be able to utilise not only your mouse, screen, and keyboard but also your application.

According to the AI company, Claude can perform tasks for you in your absence.

Claude AI is now open for applications, fill out spreadsheets, navigate browsers, and handle daily tasks like managing your desk work, showcasing its practical utility.

According to Anthropic researcher Alex Albert, this Claude AI feature will let you get your work done without even turning on your laptop.

His words on X were “The future where I never have to open up my laptop to get work done is becoming real very fast.”

Claude AI New Update 2026: How It Will Access Your Computer?

After learning a bit about how Claude AI works, you might feel curious and excited about the new ways it can access and assist with your computer, opening up fresh possibilities for your workflow.

To begin, Claude will get access to your connected applications, such as Slack or Calendar.

The AI feature will then ask for permission to access other apps. As stated by Anthropic’s Felix Riesenberg, this will work continuously with Claude’s Dispatch feature, which lets you monitor the AI model remotely.

This feature makes it a personal AI agent that can work on your behalf. Furthermore, Anthropic says users can give Claude prompts remotely and can leave afterwards.

By the time you return, the AI will make the work completely ready for you.

Giving Computer Access to Claude: How?

At present, this new AI automation tool, 2026, is limited to research preview for paid Claude Cowork and Claude Code users.

Currently, this AI automation feature is available only on macOS and requires updates to both the Claude Desktop and mobile apps, as well as device pairing for full functionality.

Anthropic’s stance reflects a broader trend in generative AI agents and remote task management.

This will help the company gain an edge over its competitors, since its AI productivity tools, such as Claude Cowork and Claude Code, are widely used.

AI agents like OpenClaw have gained widespread popularity, and Nvidia has introduced a new version of OpenClaw called NemoClaw. On the other side, Meta and OpenAI are also developing similar AI tools.
