Jharkhand Students Protest: On Sunday, protests over alleged irregularities in the recruitment exams in Jharkhand intensified.

Rahul Gandhi effigy-burning: Members of the JPSC-JSSC Reforms Manch set effigies of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on fire at Albert Ekka Chowk in Ranchi.

The protesters stated that the main allies of the Hemant Soren government have not replied to their demands for recruitment reforms or for an inquiry into the exam problems.

Jharkhand Students Protest: In the morning of the same day, the protesters walked with torches from Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium to Albert Ekka Chowk, where they set fire to the effigies of Rahul Gandhi, Tejashwi Yadav, and Hemant Soren; protests of a similar kind also occurred in a number of other districts in Jharkhand.

The forum stated that neither Congress nor the RJD, as part of the ruling alliance, has urged the government to address job seekers' concerns.

Paswan once again stated the forum's final demand, adding that if their demands are not met by August 18, the protesters will surround the Chief Minister's residence in Ranchi on August 20.

Student leader Devendra Nath Mahto ended his 15-day hunger strike on Sunday. He began the protest to draw attention to alleged problems in the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC).

Mahto called for lasting changes in the education system so that future generations would not face the same issues.

Mahto posted on X that the government had invited him for talks on Monday. He said he hoped the meeting would have a positive result.
