Earlier on Monday, all eight Lok Sabha MPs from Sharad Pawar’s party, led by Supriya Sule, met with Modi to talk about issues affecting Maharashtra.

The group raised concerns about drought, irrigation, river-linking, railways, farm loan waivers, and other local issues. They also handed the Prime Minister a written memorandum.

PM Modi-Sharad Pawar Meeting: NCP (SP) MP Amol Kolhe said the group mainly focused on the Pune-Nashik semi-high-speed rail project and farm loan waivers.

He explained that the MPs spoke directly with Modi because earlier disruptions in Parliament had kept them from raising these issues.

Sources said the group also talked about onion prices and pollution in the Chandrabhaga River.

They asked for Bharat Ratna awards for Mahatma Jyotirao Phule, Savitribai Phule, Shahir Anna Bhau Sathe, and Tukdoji Maharaj.

They also asked for the Navi Mumbai Airport to be named after one of these figures.
