On X, the Indian Prime Minister expressed that the victims will never be forgotten. Recalling April 22, 2025, he calls this attack a tragedy that still haunts the nation, and vows that the country will not tolerate any form of terror.

Adding further, PM Modi said ‘’"As a nation, we stand united in grief and resolve. India will never bow to any form of terror. The heinous designs of terrorists will never succeed."

The statement came as families of the deceased are still struggling to cope up with the loss of their loved ones.

Pahalgam Terror Attack Anniversary: What Happened That Day?

On April 22, 2025, terrorists took the lives of 26 people, including tourists, in Pahalgam in South Kashmir. The attack sparked a nationwide wrath.

In response to it, India on May 7,  backfired with its military operation and demolished numerous terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The mission was named ‘Operation Sindoor’.

A memorial has been built in Pahalgam to honour those killed in the Baisaran Valley attack. Made of black marble, it lists the names of all 26 victims—25 tourists and local ponywallah Adil Shah—and stands by the Lidder river.
