TCS Nashik Case Update: Court Hearing on Nida Khan Bail

Nida Khan's bail hearing is set for Monday, April 20. She is the main suspect in a case about religious conversion and sexual harassment at the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) office in Nashik.

Nida Khan, 26, is one of eight people accused in this case at the BPO. She applied for anticipatory bail at the Nashik Sessions Court on Saturday.

Seven of the eight accused have already been arrested. Police say that Nida Khan has been avoiding arrest.

Her family denies this, saying she is not hiding from the authorities. TCS Nashik has suspended all eight people accused in the case, including Nida Khan.

TCS Nashik case update: Nida Khan’s Background

Nida Khan began working at the BPO in Nashik in December 2021 as a telecaller. She was not in Human Resources or part of the senior staff. Nida grew up and studied in Nashik, where she earned a degree in commerce. She was pursuing a Master's degree in Business Administration through correspondence, all while continuing her work at the BPO.

Nida's family says she got married last year and moved to Mumbai with her husband this year. She worked at the BPO’s Malad office in Mumbai after the move. According to her family, Nida is expecting her first child.

Initially, Nida and her family thought the case involved another woman with the same name. When they learned that the case involved Nida, they said it caused them significant stress.

TCS Nashik case latest news: Allegations Against Nida and Other Eight Accused

Nida Khan is one of eight people accused of sexual harassment and alleged religious conversion involving Hindu girls at a TCS-linked BPO in Nashik. Nida is known to be the person behind the forceful conversion of Hindu girls, which has drawn maximum attention from the media.

Answering to the accusations, her father defended her saying she cannot do such wrong things. 

She simply went to work every day and got into trouble just for saying hello and goodbye to people.” Her family has maintained that she is innocent of all the charges.

Soon after Nida Khan was named as an accused, the police began searching for her. Her exact whereabouts remain unknown, and authorities are increasing their efforts to find her.

Police are using both technical surveillance and field operations to track her movements.

As part of investigation, Mumbai Police has taken her husband into custody.

The police find that the phones of Nida and her family have been switched off, which has made their investigation more difficult.

According to her husband, Nida was at her relative’s house. But on reaching the location, officers saw the house locked. This raised suspicion on her and raised more questions about her whereabouts.

Nida Khan Bail Hearing

In her anticipatory bail plea, Nida Khan claims that she is pregnant, a statement that has been supported by her family.

Her defence lawyers, Rahul Kasliwal and Baba Sayyed, have stated that the court will hear her bail plea on Monday.

They also said that Nida Khan has been falsely implicated in the case and that she has no prior criminal record.

TCS Nashik Controversy: Charges Levied Against Offenders

The case at the TCS Nashik facility has led to the filing of nine FIRs against eight employees, including Nida Khan. The case first came to light when a 23-year-old BPO employee filed a formal complaint.

Nine junior employees of the BPO have accused their senior colleagues, including team leaders, of sexual harassment, other forms of abuse, and religious coercion.

The FIRs in the case were filed between March 26 and April 3, based on the allegations made by these employees.

The accusations have been very serious and have shaken the TCS Nashik BPO community.

The employees who came forward did revealed how they met the torture from their seniors, who constantly pressurised them to change their religion and even abused them sexually. This has raised the concerns regarding safety of the employees in Nashik.

With the ongoing probe, police stated about their emphasis on both the sexual torture and forcible religious conversion of victims of TCS Nashik branch.

Sexual Harassment Case: Nida’s Family Under Stress

After founding her role in TCS sexual harassment and enforced religious abuse of Hindu women, Nida’s family is under heavy stress. 

It was hard for them to believe that she could be involved in such a heinous crime.

Nida’s father even defended his daughter saying she has been targeted merely for sharing greetings at her workplace. 

Her family was under the impression that maybe some other woman of similar name is involved instead of her. 

Once they realised that Nida was the accused, they said they felt overwhelmed by the stress and pressure that followed.
