Hylo Open Badminton 2026 Results | Key Highlights

Lakshya Sen wins Hylo Open 2026: Lakshya got off to a good start and was 8-4 up, using a lot of aggressive shots and sharp angles to get Christie to the corners. Christie responded with five points in a row to take the lead 9-8. Lakshya ended that run and slowly started to take control again, using good defence and well-placed shots to stop Christie from getting going.

He kept creating opportunities with nice net shots and accurate smashes. Christie did try to come back at the end but Lakshya remained composed and won the first game 21-17. The second game was very different with Lakshya stepping up and taking control. He was absolutely on top of Christie and kept him moving around the court, it was very difficult for the 4th seed to keep up. Lakshya's movement was the key factor as he kept neutralising Christie's attacks and turning defence into attack.

His sharp clears, tight net play and well-timed smashes were all very effective in keeping Christie under pressure. He maintained his intensity even after the break and continued to apply pressure with good movement and smart shots to build a 17-10 lead and get much closer to the win. Christie simply couldn't cope with the pressure which became an advantage for Lakshya who won the second game 21-10 to take the title 2 games to none. That meant their head-to-head was level at 4-4 (Christie had led 4-3 prior to the final).
