India vs New Zealand 3rd T20I Match Preview: Pitch Report and Prediction
India's 2026 T20I campaign has been all highs and lows as you'd expect in the T20 format. They got off to a good start, being the first side to go on and defend the T20 World Cup and only losing one game across the two editions. The form then went down the pan after the 2-0 defeat in Ireland (pitches were much bouncier and the weather was much windier there) and the subsequent series loss in England. At home without Bumrah and Pandya they couldn't get over the West Indies and it ended in a 2-2 draw.
New Zealand vs India 3rd T20I Match Preview | India Leads with 9 Wins Against New Zealand
India played in New Zealand's bouncy and windy conditions (still without Bumrah and Hardik) and managed to beat the World Cup runners-up in both matches. India have won 9 of their last 10 against New Zealand (New Zealand did win the last Test and ODI series though).

After moving from the Christchurch (bouncy) to the windier Cake Tin in Wellington (square boundaries about 60m) India took the lead with better bowling and some aid from New Zealand fielding errors. They'll have to alter their plans for the new ground size. New Zealand is also without Matt Henry and Lockie Ferguson who couldn't complete their overs on Saturday night.
Having lost their last two home series to India they will want to avoid a third straight loss at the start of this series. New Zealand is under pressure, India seems quite comfortable thus far.

New Zealand vs India 3rd T20I Match Preview: In the first two games the NZ tall spinners (Santner & Bracewell) bowled 16 overs, conceded 132 runs and took 8 wickets. India have only used one specialist spinner (Axar Patel) who has given up just under 10 runs an over. The batters appear to be quite risked averse against spin with Tilak Varma's SR being 76 against spin and 220 against pace.
Only Samson and Dhir have really gone for it against spin. The team may need to be more aggressive as relying on Tilak to score less than a run a ball for 15 and then hoping for a big finish against pace is unlikely to work. Matt Henry bowled just 2 overs in the last game (including a maiden) and is now out of the series to concentrate on the other formats.
Lockie Ferguson will miss only one game. NZ still have Milne and Tickner for the remainder of the series and Kyle Jamieson for this match before he plays a Ford Trophy game. There may be a temptation to bring in a left hander in the top 5 but Bevon Jacobs has been in good form. India have stuck with their plan of having a strong top 5 with the bat rather than adding in extra bowling.
They could have substituted Dhir (who can bowl spin) with a seam bowling allrounder but have gone for Shivam Dube's bowling rather than his batting. Without a full time, bowler who can bat at No 8 they've just kept Nitish Kumar Reddy who has delivered two very decent 19th overs. They'll probably stick with that. With Ishan Kishan not fully recovered Vaibhav Sooryavanshi will get another go at No 3.
New Zealand vs India 3rd T20I Pitch Report
New Zealand vs India 3rd T20I Match Preview: In the last T20I in Wellington one side defended 164 with ease, though the ground has also seen a side successfully chase 216. It will be a bit bouncy on the new wicket. The total score may be lower, but not due to the slow surface. It was windy prior to the match and there was some rain in the vicinity. The forecast for match time looks better though with no rain forecast and only moderate winds.

India vs New Zealand Match Prediction
New Zealand vs India 3rd T20I Match Preview: In the 3rd T20I of the five-match series held tomorrow, New Zealand will compete against India at the Wellington Stadium. So far, NZ's batting has been solid in the first two games but their bowlers have struggled to contain India who have chased the target in both games.
For NZ to have any chance of winning they'll need a better performance from their bowlers. India's bowling improved in the 2nd game and their batting has been excellent, winning both games and taking a 2-0 lead. India will look to maintain that form and get another win in the 3rd match.
