WPL 2027 Auction Venue
The venue for the WPL 2027 auction will be organised at Grand Hyatt Kochi, in Kerala. It is a luxury five-star waterfront resort spread across 26-acre on Bolgatty Island. With serene background of backwaters of Vembanad Lake, this luxury resort is ranked amongst the top corporate destinations in South India.
It organizes high-profile events and is best at promising hospitality services. Talking about its features, it has a big convention centre (Lulu Bolgatty International Convention Centre), an exclusive banquet space, and a grand ballroom with advanced 360-degree immersive LED screens.
Enveloped with all these luxuries, it is indeed a top choice for the WPL auction. Briefing on more features, the resort has spacious rooms, luxury suites, and multi-bedroom private villas, indoor/outdoor pools, an Ayurvedic spa, and wellness programs. Moving on to its culinary part, the resort hosts authentic Bangkok Street food and a Malabar Cafe.

WPL 2027 Player Auction | Check Out Players for Auction
Sophia Dunkley (Eng) and all-rounder Sophie Molineux (Aus) have the highest base price at Rs 50 lakh each. G. Kamalini (India), Kiran Navgire and Heather Graham (Aus) along with Jess Jonassen (Aus) have all priced themselves at Rs 40 lakh. Thirty players are at Rs 30 lakh and 106 are at Rs 10 lakh.
Indian wicketkeepers will be in high demand. G Kamalini could be one of the auction's most intriguing picks. She's listed as a specialist batter at Rs 40 lakh, but franchises, particularly DC and UPW, will no doubt be interested in her wicketkeeping.
Uma Chetry and Taniyaa Bhatia (like Kamalini) could also benefit from the lack of wicketkeepers. All-rounder Sneh Rana could be one of India's most desirable players. Batters Vrinda Dinesh and Tejal Hasabnis are also likely to be in demand. Shabnam Shakil has been quite handy with the pace and would be of interest to any team looking to bolster their Indian pace attack.
Franchise to Have an Associate Per WPL Rules
WPL 2027 Auction: Under WPL rules a franchise can have an Associate as their 5th overseas player which gives them more flexibility. That player could provide some much-needed batting and wicketkeeping cover to whichever team chooses her.
Some of the established international names may find it a tough year. Sophia Dunkley (₹50L) will be competing for places in the top order which are already well taken. Chamari Athapaththu (₹30L) is in a similar position. Heather Graham is an allrounder but at ₹40L and with most of the overseas slots already taken up it's not clear how much interest she will get.
The same goes for the more reliable WPL performers in the form of Sophie Molineux and Jess Jonassen who may not get much interest as most teams will have their spin options covered. Kiran Navgire is a power hitter but at ₹40L it's not clear she will get much interest.
The final shortlist includes 119 Indians (97 uncapped). Australia top the overseas list with 11 of the 27. South Africa and Scotland have 4 each; England and Sri Lanka have 2 each; and Ireland, NZ, the Netherlands, and the UAE each have 1. Player roles are uneven: 74 all-rounders, 36 bowlers, 24 specialist batters, and only 12 wicketkeepers out of 146.
106 players have registered at the minimum base price of Rs.10 lakh. Only two players (Sophia Dunkley and Sophie Molineux) are in the Rs.50 lakh bracket. The Rs.40 lakh bracket has G Kamalini, Kiran Navgire, Heather Graham and Jess Jonassen. Four players are in the Rs. 20 lakh bracket, and 30 are in the Rs. 30 lakh bracket.
