Aamir Khan, one of Bollywood's acclaimed actors, has expressed his views on comparing films based on box office numbers

According to Mr Perfectionist, it's unfortunate that the numbers have become a core factor in measuring a film’s quality. 

Aamir Khan Slams Comparison of Films Based On Box Office Numbers

During the 56th Film Festival of India, Aamir Khan shared his view on films judged by box office numbers. The actor says, This was not the case before. 

In the United States, movies are left to people to judge whether they succeed or fail. Aamir said that there should be transparency. 

There is nothing to hide, since many are aware of films releasing on screens. Some systems showcase numbers in the United States. 

With that, it is simple to figure out the collections. That’s how it should work. 

Box Office Numbers Becoming a Deciding Factor for Films

Talking about box office numbers, which now decide a film's fate, the Sitaare Zameen Par actor says he does not like the secrecy. 

He’s surprised that people today judge films by their box office collections.

According to him, in earlier times, it was not so. At last, he concluded saying that the audience only remembers a good film, not how much it has earned at the box office. These Bollywood trends keep changing.

Meeting with Late Veteran Actor Dharmendra

Shifting away from the topic of films judged by box-office numbers, he recalled a meeting with the late veteran actor Dharmendra with his younger son, Azad. 

Aamir Khan said that in the last year, he grew very close to him and has met him multiple times. 

During those memorable visits, he found it essential to introduce his son to this great legend of Indian cinema, even though he was not aware of his profile.

Upcoming Films

The last movie of Aamir Khan was Sitaare Zameen Par. The film hit theatres on 20th June 2025. Its story and characters are different to Taare Zameen Par. The actors have several projects lined up for December and next year's releases. These include:
