Trump Dismisses Epstein Files as Democrat Hoax
US President Donald Trump has once come into its defence regarding his alleged links with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, while many investigation files are still blacked out.
While addressing reporters in the Oval Office on February 3, Trump asked Americans to shift their attention away from the Epstein controversy.
He clarified that he had known Epstein for many years but had never been involved in unlawful activities.
What are the Epstein Files? Facts To Know
Briefing on the Epstein Files: they are not just a collection of investigative records or court documents, but also feature evidence linked to Jeffrey Epstein.
These files feature witness statements, flight logs, legal filings, and emails that highlight Epstein’s network of associates and his alleged role in sex trafficking of minor girls.
Many of the documents from these files were made public through court cases, especially the ones linked to Epstein’s former associate Ghislaine Maxwell.
He was convicted of helping recruit and tormenting victims. The files also included the names of power figures, which sparked strong public attention and controversy.
One important thing to note here is that having the names of people in the Epstein Files does not necessarily mean they are criminals.
In most cases, the appearance of names becomes part of witness accounts and contact lists, without evidence of crime.
Overall, the Jeffrey Epstein Files explains Epstein's operations, his interactions, and the crimes that went unnoticed for years.
How Is Trump Involved In It
Now, coming to the question of Trump’s involvement in this case, it reveals his longtime friendship with Epstein. However, no evidence has ever come against him.

However, the American President remarks appeared contradictory to his previous statements.
Epstein Files Update: Trump Denies Being Friendly With Epstein
On February 2, Trump claimed he had no friendly relationship with Epstein and had never visited Epstein's private island.
Now, contradictory to his denial statement, there are public records, photographs, and old interviews that prove his social bonding with the sex offender in the past.
However, Trump repeatedly stated that he was never a close friend of Epstein.
In a 2002 interview with New York Magazine, he admitted he had known Epstein for many years and even called him a ‘terrific guy’.
Trump also remarked about Epstein’s fondness for young women. Years later, he tried to trivialise these comments, saying that his closeness with Epstein was casual, akin to that of others in Palm Beach.
He also added that his relationship with him ended much before his arrest.
Based on photographs that surfaced, it showed Trump and Epstein together at Mar-a-Lago and at a New York event.
There are images showing their presence with Melania Trump and Epstein’s associate, Ghislaine Maxwell, in 2000.
