Dhruv Jurel reveals Gambhir Gill Advice: Dhruv Jurel is playing as a specialist batter for India in the current two-match Test series against Sri Lanka.
The 25-year-old from Agra scored a half-century in the first Test at Galle and followed it up with an unbeaten century in the first innings of the second Test.

India vs Sri Lanka Test: On Monday (August 25), he scored 115 runs, helping India declare their first innings at 503 for 9.
Playing his 11th Test for India in Colombo, Jurel received praise from fans, experts, and cricket followers for his performance.
After the second day, he talked about the advice he got from head coach Gautam Gambhir and captain Shubman Gill.

Dhruv Jurel reveals Gambhir Gill advice: In a video shared by the BCCI ahead of the third day, Jurel said that Gambhir and Gill encouraged him to face more balls and focus on building partnerships.
He added that they wanted him to read the match situation and take fewer risks while batting.

Gambhir's advice to Jurel: Gambhir and Gill advised him to play as many balls as possible, build partnerships, understand the match situation, identify his scoring areas, and keep his risk low while batting.
This performance made him just the second player in Indian history to score a Test century in Sri Lanka while batting at No. 7 or lower.
He scored 115 runs, which is now the highest score by an Indian batter at No. 7 or lower in an away World Test Championship (WTC) match.
He mentioned that milestones usually come naturally when a batter spends enough time at the crease.
His main focus on Day 2 was building partnerships with his teammates, and he felt India played well.
Jurel Reveals The Reason Behind His Jai Jawaan Jai Kisaan Tattoo
Following the match, Jurel stated that the two first-class games he had played for India A in Sri Lanka had helped him in preparing for this one.
He also mentioned his celebration when he raised his bat and showed off his 'Jai Jawan Jai Kisaan' tattoo on his bicep.
Jurel stated that the time he spent playing for India A—during which he scored a century and a fifty in two games—had helped him get used to the conditions.
When batting, he focused on forming partnerships and on getting a good understanding of the situation before launching an attack.
He also said that both the coach and the captain had told him to watch the conditions, look for chances to score, and play in keeping with what the game demanded.
Jurel stated that his tattoo is a symbol of his family origins since his grandfather was a farmer and his father a soldier, and therefore he wishes to pay tribute to his roots. He devoted his centenary celebration to both his father and grandfather.

Dhruv Jurel established himself in age-group cricket and attracted attention at the 2020 U19 World Cup, when India got to the final.
Following two successful seasons in domestic cricket, he joined the Rajasthan Royals for the 2023 IPL, and in his first season as a player in the league he made a good impression, particularly with his match-winning performance versus the Punjab Kings.
In February 2024 Jurel entered the Test squad and made his debut in Rajkot, stepping in for KS Bharat.
He scored a vital 90 in his second Test, which was the one that saw India win a closely contested series against England.
During the 2024 IPL season Jurel also showed good form and as a result Rajasthan chose to keep him before the mega auction.
