They claimed that before The Kashmir Files was released, Kher visited Kashmir and showed support for displaced Kashmiri Pandits, but after the film became successful, he distanced himself from them.

Shared Screen Space In The Film ‘The Wednesday’
Moving on to their feud, both senior actors shared screen space in the 2008 film A Wednesday, directed by Neeraj Pandey.
In this film, Anupam Kher played the character of Mumbai Police Commissioner Prakash Rathod and Naseeruddin Shah played an unnamed common man who claims to have planted bombs across Mumbai, setting up the tense story that follows.
The story unfolds over a single day as the mysterious caller demands the release of four terrorists in exchange for the locations of the bombs.
As the police race against time, the film builds intense suspense before revealing a powerful twist that becomes clear at the climax.
In the climax, the man is shown to be an ordinary citizen frustrated by repeated terrorist attacks and the failure of the system to deliver justice.
Praised for its gripping screenplay, sharp performances, and socially relevant message, A Wednesday became both a critical and commercial success, earning wide acclaim.
