According to TV9 Marathi, both Vithabai’s family and the National Congress Party (NCP) are asking why Vithabai’s name is not in the title and want it changed.

NCP demands Title Change: Reports say the NCP’s film and cultural department has questioned the makers of Eetha about why Vithabai’s name is missing from the title.

Vithabai Narayangaonkar’s family also wants the film to be named Vitha or Vithabai to honor her.

Babasaheb Patil, the state president of Maharashtra, said the party wants to help protect Vithabai’s legacy and believes the film’s title should reflect her important role in lavani and tamasha.

Eetha Title Controversy: Vithabai’s sons, Kailash and Rajesh, and her grandson Mohit have also asked the filmmakers to change the title, saying they do not like the name Eetha.

The family believes the Vithabai Narayangaonkar biopic should use the folk legend’s name to properly credit her for shaping the lavani tradition in Maharashtra.

So far, director Laxman Utekar, Shraddha Kapoor, and Maddock Films have not responded.
