During his speech at the India Artificial Intelligence Summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his views on artificial intelligence, saying that it should be accessible to all.
According to him, this raging technology must become a medium for empowerment and inclusion, particularly in the Global South.
Additionally, PM Modi said that some countries view AI with apprehension and fear, whereas for India, it is an opportunity for growth.
He said this while addressing delegates on Day 4 of the AI summit at Bharat Mandapam in the national capital.
AI is Not About Machines, But Enhancing Human Potential: PM Modi
According to PM Modi, Artificial Intelligence must not be seen as smart machines but as a way to escalate human abilities.
He said that AI offers an advantage in making machines smarter and increases human calibre many times over.
The real question is not what AI can do, but how humans can benefit from it.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi posed for a group photograph with the global technology leaders at the summit in Delhi.
The leaders included are
- Sundar Pichai - Google and Alphabet CEO
- Sam Altman - CEO of OpenAI
- Alexandr Wang - Meta Chief AI Officer, co-founder of ScaleAI
- Dario Amodei - Anthropic Chief Executive
It started on February 16 and has now extended to February 21 following the overwhelming response.
The main objective is how AI can tackle global challenges and pave new paths for shared growth.
This five-day event is based on three major pillars, or sutras: People, Planet, and Progress.
