UP Bharat Bandh updates

Uttar Pradesh is also expected to participate in the Bharat Bandh in support of workers and farmers.

Union leaders said there will be no violence, as the demonstrations will be held peacefully. However, this will still disrupt daily transportation and government services.

Farmers will raise concerns about trade policies, crop prices, and input costs.

Worker Protest

Workers are mainly protesting against the new labour forms, which, according to them, benefit large firms and compromise workers’ rights.

From their perspective, this will lead to more frequent hiring and firing, triggering job insecurity among workers on both contractual and informal terms of employment.

Farmers Protest

On the farmers’ side, they are also opposed to the new policy, as they feel their concerns are being overlooked.

This has instilled fear in them regarding the negative impact of trade agreements on their income and agriculture.
