Before Suicide, Iranian Man Appeals to Trump: ‘Just Attack’
Before taking his life, an Iranian man posted a social media video of himself requesting US President Donald Trump to refrain from dealing with Iran’s religion-based government.
The name of the person, Pouria Hamidi, was revealed by Iranian media.
In his 10-minute and 44-second video, his main motive was to highlight the deadly crackdown on protests in Iran.
He wanted a foreign nation to take immediate action against the country’s religious regime.
Hamidi’s Death: Last Words of an Iranian Man
Pouria Hamidi, the Iranian national who lived in the southern port city of Bushehr, left a video that went viral on social media before ending his life.
As per the latest updates on Hamidi's suicide, his last words were ‘’ If you’re watching this, then I’m not around anymore,’’.
Adding further, Hamidi said that the number of people who died (around 40,000) in Iran was higher during the Russia-Ukraine war and the Israel-Palestine war.
He said this in a video that he posted on his YouTube channel ‘’PoorY X’ on February 5. Hamidi captioned this video ‘’This is My Sacrifice - Please, Free My Country’.
Don't Betray the Martyrs": Iranian Activist's Message to US
Before committing suicide after posting on social media, Iranian activist Hamidi referred to American intervention, requesting their intervention.
According to him, any agreement with the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s rule would be unfair for those victims who lost their lives.
Hence, he expected them to take possible steps to stop this deal.
Trusted US President for Backing Iranian Protest, But This Is Not Enough: Hamidi
Hamidi stated that Iranians trusted US President Donald Trump for backing their continued protests.
But he also added that this is not enough, as it is very difficult to fight against armed men. Without external support, it is impossible for Iranians to win against the Islamic regime.
Hence, the only hope right now is that America must attack Iran. Adding further, Hamidi said our people need foreign intervention, as we cannot win the war against the Iranian regime alone.
Support For Exiled Prince Reza Pahlavi
In his video, Hamidi also expressed support for Prince Reza Pahlavi, Iran’s exiled prince, considering him the best to bring a positive transition in the government.
He united various opposition groups outside and urged them to stop fighting each other.
Hamidi mentioned how people in Iran have become hopeless in the current situation. He himself is unable to eat or sleep.
The Iranian activist also said that he cannot even cry, as it is so humorous to be born in a place like that that has no future.
Adding further, he still hopes that one day people of his country will have a future after the change in Iran’s theocratic regime.
Hamidi’s Motive Behind the Video
Regarding Hamidi’s video before his suicide, he said that the main motive behind this video was to give meaning to his life and instill hope among Iranians to support each other.
According to an Iran International report, with the end of recording, he switched to his native language, Persian, saying’’ We people of Iran are lonely people and have nobody, so please support each other. Long Live Iran.
When the video got shared on social media, Hamidi, then, reportedly ended his life.
Iran Intensifies Its Crackdown on Protesters
Following Hamidi’s suicidal death, the Iranian government increased its crackdown on protestors while engaging in nuclear talks with the United States.
Authorities even arrested critics, including reformist spokesperson Javed Emam, and also added the prison time to Nobel winner Narges Mohamadi’s sentence.
Iran’s Two Followed Approaches
Iran is now staging its two approaches, one, imprisoning protestors at home, and the second, trying to make negotiations with Trump' s administration abroad.
