Diljit Dosanjh supports CJP Protest: Singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh, who had not previously joined the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) protest, has now spoken up in support of the students.

He shared his views after Delhi Police used batons and tear gas to break up a large group of students and youth activists during a CJP-led protest march to Parliament on Monday, July 20.

Diljit remembered the criticism he faced for supporting the farmers' protest and said he is ready for similar reactions now.

He mentioned being called "anti-national" before and expects the same label for supporting the students.

Diljit Dosanjh supports CJP protest: The singer-actor even mentioned a popular phrase from the Guru Granth Sahib that says, "Nanak dukhiya sab sansar, so sukhiya jis naam aadhaara", which means everyone in the world faces struggles, but those who seek support from God find true peace.

Diljit also said that nothing in the world is perfect. He acknowledged the efforts of both the protesters and those affected by the issues, but admitted he does not know all the details.

Actors Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D'Souza showed their support for the protesters and said it is important that their voices are heard.

In a post on X, the couple said they support the country's youth, calling them the heartbeat of democracy and the real builders of India's future.

They urged others to listen to, support, and empower young people, saying the energy and courage of the younger generation will help shape the India everyone hopes for.

Before the protest march, veteran actress Shabana Azmi and actor and filmmaker Prakash Raj joined the demonstrators at Delhi's Jantar Mantar.

Azmi told the crowd that the protest was peaceful and based on constitutional values. She said everyone had gathered to use their right to protest peacefully, inspired by Mahatma Gandhi's ideas of non-violence.

She stressed that the protesters did not want violence and were committed to staying peaceful.

After Monday's action against the protesters, several celebrities spoke out against the use of force.

Actor Huma Qureshi said the images from the protest would stay with her for a long time. She said seeing peaceful demonstrators face what she called "brute force and lathis" made her feel very sad.

Actor and filmmaker Nandita Das also supported those standing up for democratic values. In a social media post, she said democracy grows stronger when people are free to gather, speak, listen, and be heard.

She added that constructive dissent is important for keeping democracy alive and said she stood in spirit with those marching peacefully in Delhi.

In a detailed Instagram post, actor Bhumi Pednekar said violence is not the answer and urged people to focus on students affected by issues in the education system.

Other celebrities, including Soni Razdan, Zeenat Aman, Abhay Deol, Naseeruddin Shah, Ratna Pathak Shah, Omi Vaidya, and Sonakshi Sinha, also publicly supported the movement and called for peaceful protests.

Sonakshi Sinha called the youth the country's greatest strength and said the protesters stayed true to their beliefs even when facing challenges.

She also encouraged those joining the planned Parliament march on July 20 to keep raising their voices in a peaceful way.
