Kangana Ranaut’s Comeback with Bharat Bhagya Vidhaata
After a long gap from the big screen, actress Kangana Ranaut finally returned with Bharat Bhagya Vidhaata, a film that released on June 12, 2026.
It is based on the events that took place at Cama Hospital in Mumbai during the 2008 terrorist attacks.
Although it is inspired by real people and events, it presents a fictional account of Geeta Madhav, a nurse who found herself caught up in the disorder that night.
A few names and details have been altered to heighten the story's drama, but the main aim is to draw attention to the people who continued working during the crisis rather than focusing on the terrorists.
Kangana Ranaut takes on the leading role, and her performance is the film's greatest strength, even though at times it also impedes the movie.
Particularly moving is the scene in which she breaks down, revealing the intense emotions of a woman trying to save lives while risking her own safety.
The film also brings to light something seldom depicted in movies: the everyday difficulties nurses face. Their efforts are generally ignored or not properly appreciated.
Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata shows respect for a profession which is normally given little attention in films. It does not include graphic scenes, dead bodies, or excessive blood.
The horror of 26/11 is there, but it is not used merely to create a sensational effect. This decision ensures that the focus remains on the people.
Bharat Bhagya Vidhata is a film that is worth watching. It is a tribute to the ordinary citizens who kept the city going while everything else around them was falling apart.
