Masoud Pezeshkian's Resignation: Israeli media, citing sources close to events in Tehran, reported that Khamenei has reduced President Pezeshkian's political power by allowing him to attempt to resign once more.

The report explains that Pezeshkian has frequently threatened to resign during conflicts with other Iranian leaders.

He officially tried to resign in May, asserting that his government was excluded from decisions on national security and foreign policy.

The media reported that Khamenei's most recent stance indicates he is now fully aligned with the military.

Iran Political Latest News: The report adds that no formal negotiations are currently taking place. It came amidst Trump's warning that Iran has a “last chance” to reach a deal.

Washington recently cancelled a planned military strike on Iran after Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar urged the US to pursue diplomacy instead.

Trump stated this was Iran’s final opportunity to achieve a favourable agreement and warned that if the deal fails, such a chance will not come again.

Trump also said talks were happening because Iran requested them. He added that Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, and other countries encouraged the US to try diplomacy again.

Iran Political Crisis: In a Truth Social post, US President Donald Trump accused Iran's leadership of being "unbelievably duplicitous," alleging that Iranian officials were privately seeking negotiations while publicly denying any talks.

Trump claimed multiple meetings had already taken place, with more scheduled soon, despite Iran insisting its only ongoing discussions were with Oman.

He also dismissed Tehran's assertion that it controlled the Strait of Hormuz, saying the US Navy effectively controlled the strategic waterway through a naval blockade.

He also reiterated that Iran would never be allowed to develop a nuclear weapon.

His remarks followed comments aboard Air Force One on Sunday, where he said he had chosen diplomacy over military action and expected negotiations with Iran to begin the next day.

However, Iran swiftly denied the claim. Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said there were no negotiations or meetings planned with the United States.

He stated that Iran had no intention of hosting foreign delegations or sending negotiators abroad, adding that current discussions with Oman were limited to managing issues related to the Strait of Hormuz.

While Washington insists Iran must guarantee free navigation through the waterway, Tehran maintains it retains authority over shipping in the strait.
