Jantar Mantar Reservation Protest: On Friday, people from unreserved categories met at Delhi's Jantar Mantar to protest against the caste-based reservation system.

The protesters held slogans, placards, and saffron flags. They said students should get government help for education, coaching, and other needs based on their economic situation, not their caste.
They believed reservation benefits should go to people who are economically disadvantaged.
The protesters also criticised the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and called for its repeal. They said some rules could be misused and asked for steps to ensure benefits reach those most disadvantaged.

One protester told the media that people who are economically weaker should still receive support such as scholarships, fee assistance, and coaching, but that this support should go to those who need it most.
They said the reservation system has existed for many years and should be reviewed in light of current social and economic conditions.

Reservation Protest Latest News: Delhi Police Detain Protesters at Jantar Mantar Over March Without Permission
Jantar Mantar Reservation Protest: By the end of the day, Delhi Police detained several protesters. Police said they had not given permission for a protest or march at Jantar Mantar.
An official said they had given an NOC for a peaceful protest at Ramlila Ground, allowing up to 500 people until 4 pm.
What Were The Initial Triggers of the Anti-Reservation Agitation?
This protest, similar to the student protest supported by CJP, began on Instagram. The “Reservation Hatao Andolan” page organised the campaign and later held a demonstration at Jantar Mantar on August 21. The page has 5.6 million followers on Instagram.
The protesters believe that government support, such as education assistance, coaching, and other needs, should be based on economic conditions.
A protester from the Akhil Bharatiya Kshatriya Mahasabha said the group wants government support to take economic conditions into account.
The protester added that poor people from any caste should receive help with education, coaching, and other needs.
Reservation Hatao Andolan Organisers Deny Links to Political Parties, Foreign Agencies
Jantar Mantar Reservation Protest: Reservation Hatao Andolan wrote on X that it does not get money from any political party or foreign group.
The group also said that everyone who joined the Jantar Mantar protest came on their own and was not paid.
The post said the protest’s goal is to make the system fairer and protect the country’s future.
